Will this be inside or outside competition? I shot the LGA games here at the Key Arena in October. It was all indoors.

It's outdoor so I don't really worry about it. But if it is indoor I am sure I will ask you all about it. lol!

One locks exposure,to allow you to continue auto-focusing,and the other lock focus allowing you to Auto expose-for example, let's say you want to make a landscape image where everything from just in front of you to as far as you can see appears sharp. You can set focus to lock (in menu) then press AE-L/AF-L button to focus on a certain item in the near distance (which could be in different lighting)-which locks the focus, then let auto exposure set itself for the shot when you press the shutter button. regards, Ken

I don't know if this is specifically a Nikon term but I am sure that any other DSLR will have the same function even if it has a different name.

D40 is the more versatile camera-the D40x Only takes DX lenses, where the D40 has a selection of over 40 lenses from 1959 to the present day. regards, Ken
