Sorry for the ignorant post of the day....
But is the EXIF data something that is transferred from my camera to my computer with the pictures?

Kinda. It's digital information that the camera generates that's embedded into the photo file. Basically, it's a capture of all the camera settings and information for that photo, things like the iso, aperture, focal length, shutter speed, and a date/time stamp.

hmmm... I'll have to see if I can find it in some of the pictures that I uploaded yesterday. I am SO not a 'read the directions' kinda person. Complete visual/kinesthetic learner.

Depending on what software you use, you can probably find the EXIF very easily. If you have a flickr account, you can find it my clicking the "more information" link on each photo page.

Windows: Right click > properties. It should be in one of the tabs
Mac: Right click > Get info. It's got it's own tab

Or you can use this freeware called Opanda. Just open the photo using the program and its EXIF data will be shown. Its website is here.

Thanks everyone! I ended up actually USING the help tab in my Olympus Master 2 software last night and actually found it all. LOL Its amazing what you can find when you take the time to read the 'destructions.'
