Default Please help me in choosing web hosting

Hi everyone,
I am sorry for possible offtopic, but I need your help in find new web hosting provider as soon as possible, because my current host (ixwebhosting.com) is kicking me off, they say 'your account is using a lot server resources', but my website gets only about 200 visitors per day and my disk usage is 1500 MB (maybe they do not like that?)

Anyway, what would be your recommendations for getting reliable web hosting? Where are you hosting your websites? Are you happy with your providers?

I am now checking http://www.hosting24.com/ - offer looks very nice, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space?
I have contacted them about this question and they say something that "These days 500GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will run out of disk space we will simply add new 500GB disk drive with almost zero costs and you can continue uploading without any problems".

What do you think about it? Maybe things have changed in last 4 years? With my current provider I get only 2GB of disk space for $10 per month..
Any ideas and suggestions are much appreciated.

When I worked in webhosting, the average website used 50MB or disk space. The company I worked for would cram over 1,000 websites onto a server, and promise all of them unlimited disk space, but would only have enough hard drive capacity for everyone to use about 1 GB of drive space. Despite that, the only time the servers ever came close to filling up was if the server had been hacked as was being used to serve warez. Webhosting companies bank on the fact that most people aren't even going to try to see how much "unlimited" really is and will only use enough space to run their web page. If everyone were to use a lot of space, they couldn't offer unlimited plans, but because most people don't they can safely make that claim.

On last thing, if you do start to cause problems taking up space on a server, and it would have to be a lot of space, they're going to make it tough for you to keep the site running. They'll tell you have to move to a different server, but they won't move the data. Or any of a number of tricks to make it difficult for you to keep transferring a high volume of data. Hoping that you'll either give up on using so much space, or cancel your account.

Lunar pages has been fine for me. Bluehost has too, but I've not got as much on there and it is a fairly new account.

"Server resources" probably means either CPU usage (the software that you're running is very inefficient), or bandwidth.

This being a digital photo forum, I'm assuming that you have digital photos on your Web site. I had to take down the digital photos from my personal site because "referrer spammers" were downloading them by the hundreds every night just to show up in the server logs (they didn't want the actual pictures, just the record that they'd requested the pictures). My low-cost hosting agreement has fairly low bandwidth limits, and those spammers were threatening to run up a huge bill.

I moved my photos to Flickr, where bandwidth is unlimited.

Im on GoDaddy. Currently on a "economy" plan but will likely be moving to a higher plan to have 2 sites on the same hosting space.

I use DreamHost. I'm on a private server with 12 sites running on it. It costs me about $15/month for nearly unlimited storage and bandwidth. I have been with them for three years and they have never gone down long enough for me to notice. If you use my coupon code "DUDESTUDIOS" you get $50 off your first year so that makes it only $69.40 for the year.
