Default Cleaning your camera... *video*

(don't do this at home)

I gave my camera shower today, its always bugged me about using it in the rain even tho its ment to be a weather sealed body (the lens in the video is to) so i thought id give it a quick shower to see how it went.

I did shoot in a light shower (out doors ofc) before and it got a little wet with an old vivitar series 1 and both lens/camera were ok.

This was one of the reasons i got a gx10 over another brand

You're very brave for trying that Or you have a manufacturer's guarantee in your other pocket

Very cool dude! I wish Canon had sealed up the 5DII and 50D, but alas...

You're either one brave or stupid person I use the EOS 1d MK II's, they are water proof, however, I wouldn't dare clean them off in a shower.

id say it was a bit of both hehe...

ive had it for over a year, the lens cost me about £500 and is rather new over all both the lens and the body are ment to be weather resistant but i was always a little worried about taking it out in the rain so i figured a little run under the shower dry it off then check it out would do me the world of good.

Camera's still going good, no water anywhere to be seen (i check inside the mirror box to) so i guess it dose what it says on the tin. A weather resistant combo that should be fine to use in bad weather

"Specially built to prevent the intrusion of water or dust
Including the shutter button and dial, the GX-20 features 72 locations that are perfectly sealed with silicone to shield the camera’s insides from water, dust, sand, and other potentially harmful intruders.
Regardless of weather or environment, the GX-20 is designed to always enable a free and vibrant shooting experience."

this is from the samsung site, the gx10 has the same body as the gx-20

That would be a great way to get rid of the dust on your sensor.

You should try that next. Make sure to do a video of the process.

yey... no more dust on my sensor!

lol kiddin, i wouldnt even try what i did with a standard lens :P, never mind with no lens at all lol.

Ive seen pictures of the gx10/k10d being left out in the snow for days (totaly coverd) and still working, if it being used in heavy rain and still being ok... even read about one guy falling and it being coverd in muck for him to was the dirt off using a little puddle.

I dont think they could sell the camera as weather resilient if a quick dunk under a shower head would kill it , mother nature can do much much worse

Not sure about the UK, but here in the states "weather resistant" is not the same thing as waterproof. Waterproof means it won't allow water in, weather resistant can mean just about anything.

well on the samsung site they state "Regardless of weather or environment, the GX-20 is designed to always enable a free and vibrant shooting experience".

I have seen photos of them coverd snow (left outdoors on a tripod) in mud.. (guy fell) apartly washed using water from a puddle to clean it and ppl using them on tripods in the rain and all still working.

I have also heard that a guy took his k20d (same body) out in the rain and it died after 30mins .

But im more to believe the guy was unlucky and got a faulty body that let water in than the others being lucky .
