Default In the beginning...

....did a little research for a presentation I was preparing and came up with some interesting facts:

1986 - Kodak invents the world’s first solid state image sensor that converted light to energy, and then to digital pictures. 1.4 megapixels (I wonder if they knew what it would do to their film business)

1991 - Kodak released the first professional digital camera system. 1.3 megapixels at the paltry sum of $20,000. YIKES!!

1994 - The first consumer level digital camera arrives - the Apple Quick Take 100, and in...1995 -1996 was soon followed by the likes of Kodak, Casio, and Sony with their offerings.

You have to wonder where was Canon and Nikon with their offerings?

Actually making good cameras for the time and waiting until they could actually sell a digital camera to the average person, therefore biding their time and producing good glass.

That's why I had to wait until 2001 to get the Canon D30.

Ebay probably too for those oddballs that love collecting stuff like that.

I remember when you showed me your presentation...remember I almost fell off my chair when you shared this info with me?
