for the Spring its just individual and filled with personality- for the fall its the whole class PLUS individual, but easier b/c its just a head shot...

It's probably too late to help now but how about a box of props and, as each child comes up, ask them (with the help of parents / teachers as required) to pick one that they would like to hold? They are more involved in the decision, which should help them focus and make the photo reflect their personality a bit more. It also gives you a little more time to observe them and make a judgement about how to approach the shot.

wulf - that is a great idea. BTW, its never too late - plus, I have to do this again tomorrow... but its spozed to be beautiful!
