Default books on learning about camera

I am awaiting the arrival of my new DSLR, a Canon EOS Rebel XSi(450D). My question is, Are there any outstanding books out there that will help me get the most out of this camera? I have had a few point & shoot digital cameras & have been less than satisfied with the results. The XSi was in my budget & reviews I read were great, so i took the leap of faith. , Thanx all

At most large Camera stores or even book stores you can order a particular book on your camera model. Most of them are from the Magic Lantern Guides, a Lark Photography Book. Lark Books, A division of Sterling Publishing, Co., Inc. They are well written and easy to understand, much more so than the instruction manuals that come with the cameras.

Thank You Jim. I was on line looking for reviews on books & saw the magic lantern books as well as th blue crane books & a set of books by scott Kelby called the digital photography book vol. 1 & 2. Your input has been very helpful. I wanted to make the right decision so I thought I would ask .
