Hi all and thanks to the responses I got to my question about the various hosting sites. See Choice of online storage
Based on the majority opinion I have opened a Flickr account - a free one so far - although the unlimited uploads does sound pretty good value for the money. Anyway I just wanted to get started. A number of posts on DPS speak of the differences perceived in the appearance of images depending upon the browser of the viewer and the format of the posted image. So I thought a little experiment might help. I have created three saved versions of the same image from Lightroom 2.3. One is a "full size JPEG", one is saved as a TIFF in the sRGB colour space and one is a TIFF in the Adobe RGB colour space. Here is the JPEG: ![]() Here is the same image saved as a TIFF in sRGB colour space: ![]() And finally here is the same image saved in the AdobeRGB space: ![]() It will be interesting to view and compare these images in IE. I use Mozilla myself. I would be interested to hear any feedback about any differences perceived in the images. I want to try and decide on a format for Flickr posting. Maybe even get really adventurous and try building a preset of some sort to batch process images for uploading. I hope this is the right spot for this post. I'm not asking for critique of the images as such, just the viewers impressions of the different formats. Thanks in advance.

Thanks fletch.
I opened the web page in IE. I have to say that all three images look cooler - that is bluer not more "chic" - on IE than on Mozilla. There is a very clear drop off in Adobe colour space in IE; flesh tones have become near to grey. But I see a similar drop off in Mozilla browser. Maybe a fraction less so. sRGB clearly is the winner on this image.

I agree with Fletch about the TIFF files. As far as how the photos look, well, to my eye (in both Firefox 3 and Safari) they all look pretty much the same. But that's just me.
