Default How do I change the camera type on my profile listed under my name?

Hi

I just need some help - I don't know why but it says "Point and Shoot" underneath my username (and others) on threads and everything else. Obviously I clicked something when I signed up but I was just wondering how and if you could change it? I've had a look around and can't seem to find anything and just wondered if anyone could help?

Thanks,

Aimee

It's related to post count, not your profile.

Aimee04, Welcome

In FAQ above:

Member Titles

Forum ranks or titles are based on the number of posts that you have made, not on the actual gear that you own. The ranks are:

0-49............ Point & Shoot
50-199......... Digital SLR
200-500....... Nifty- Fifty
500-999....... Super Zoom
1000- 2000... Prime Lens

If you want people to know what gear you shoot with, check our FAQ on how to create a "signature"

Good question, I was just looking for that info myself and wondering the same things. Thanks for the question and thanks for the response. It appears it is like an ATV forum I belong to, there it goes by gear, as in first gear, second gear and up to fourth.
thanks to both of you.

It is based on the number of posts, to encourage you to post and critique instead of just viewing. It is a community participation forum.

But do try to be meaningful with your posts. "Nice shot" all the time means nothing. And don't be afraid to critique as we all see images differently and you may have something to add.

I am encouraged and determined to beat jiminyClickit with his top score . Got a way to go yet.

According to this, it's Nicole you'll be trying to out-post!

Fortunately, it isn't a contest, just a way to encourage people to add the information pool and get to know other members

Not that dreaded bug crawling on my screen again. The number of times I have tried to squash it.

As many times as this question pops up, I'm wondering if it isn't time to do away with the whole "camera level" titles infavor of something else. Even adding the | 0-49 posts after doesn't seem to help.

Maybe film types? Velvia for the green-horns etc . . . LOL
