do you keep your flash on

leaving the flash on is too awkward and heavy. but I do always carry it just in case

Is it safe to assume those that carry flashes around all the time are pros and are making money from the "assignment"?

I'm just a hobby photog and couldn't carry a flash around - too large, heavy, noticeable

I carry a SB800 in my bag everywhere I go...I dont even know how to use it I really should learn I just cant stand reading instruction manuals.

A photographer friend of mine does the same thing.

Picked up a SB800 and I showed him the basics when shooting with it. Now ever time we get together, I will show him a feature he did not know he had with that system.

We joke about it and hes says that it is like he gets a new toy every time he learns something new on what it can do.

I laughed and said "Yeah, it musta been real funny when you realized that you did not need to spend that money on the slave to trigger your flash remotely. LOL

I think it is a guy thing.....reading manuals

I bring mine with me at all times but dont put it on unless i am doing a photo shoot.
Too heavy and cumbersome. altho it does still weight the same even tho its in the camera bag and I'm still carrying it around.lol
