Are you trying to get both flashes off camera? Or have one speedlite on-camera?

From what I understand (and it's not much, so you may want to read the Rob Galbraith review of the units) if you want to keep a speedlite on-camera as a master or manual light, you just need the MiniTT1 transmitter on-camera (and you can mount a speedlite onto it) and a FlexTT5 transceiver for the off-camera flash.

If you want to use the MiniTT1 transmittter as your master, then you'd need two FlexTT5s transceivers to use both flashes off camera.

if you want both flashes off camera then you'll need two transceivers/receivers (one on each flash unit) and a transmitter on your camera.

You need LoS with the Canon wireless commander thing though. I'd personally go with cybersyncs because they aren't as expensive as pw.

Yeah, but on the upside you maintain TTL. I love the Nikon system, don't even need a separate commander.

Yeah, that's one of the few areas where there's a huge difference between the two. CLS is a really powerful and intuitive system. Check out Joe McNally's work (and his new book, The Hot Shoe Diaries), he does most everything with speedlights.
