Default Introduce Yourself

The whole point of this forum is to create a space for those who are interested in digital photography to learn from one another about their hobby.

For us to get the most out of it - we need to get to know each other a little better so I thought it'd be a good idea to do some introductions.

Tell us a little about yourself, about your interest in and experience with digital photography and what you'd like to get out of and contribute to these forums.

Default I'll Kick us Off

Let me get things rolling:

I'm Darren Rowse, the guy behind Digital Photography School.

I live in Melbourne Australia with my wife (V) and 5 months old son (X).

I've been interested in photography for 15 or so years now, since I took a photography class in high school. I've never done it professionally although do take on photographic jobs from time to time.

I made the progression from film to digital photography about 4 years ago now and have been fascinated by the evolution in cameras since they first appeared. I have a blog at Digital Photography Blog which follows the developments in digital cameras.

My Gear - I use a Canon EOS 20D DSLR and own an assortment of lenses for it. I also have a Fujifilm finepix f30 point and shoot digital camera.

I'm really excited about these forums - while we've previously had a flickr discussion group (which we'll keep running for a while) this forum will allow us to go a lot deeper.

Ok - so now it's your turn. Let us know who you are!

My name is cassie, I am currently going to the Art Institute Online studying for my bachelors of science, Graphic Design. I absolutely love photography and everything about it, taking the picture to editing it, to watching the faces of my clients when they see the perfect shot of their occasion. I work at Proex, in Stillwater MN, so I work with photography everyday.

I absolutely love this website and all of my friends know and use DPS all the time, it is such an amazing resource, I have learned so much about digital photography from DPS; from basic point and shoot cameras, to DSLRS and great composition points.

thanks for joining up Wayne - nice to have you here. Looking forward to your contributions. We'll be launching these forums on a wider level in the coming week or two once we've got a few bugs ironed out and the other main site up and running with it's new design.

Hello, from Portland, Oregon, US.
My name is Kenneth Benjamin Reed; I am not a professional photographer, just an avid fan of the processes involved in making good pictures happen. Most of my collaborative work is pro bono.

I've been a proud fan of the DPS.com for almost a year now. Darren has a knack for finding all sorts of tips for making the most out of this new art form.

I use a Canon D10 and a few different lenses, my favorite at present being the Canon 20mm/1.8... it makes for great DOF contrast.

Feel free to stop by my flickr page or my website for more info and distractions.

Going, going, gone,

Kenneth Benjamin Reed
