Hi, my name is Millie. I live in the US--Massachusetts and am turning 50 soon. I've always been interested in art and photography. More so in the past year since I have been using Photoshop CS2 at work. I got a Canon Rebel XT for a christmas present (my request) and ever since then have been taking lots of pictures, as a hobby. There is room for lots of improvement and it's nice to learn from forums, books, and podcasts. DPS has helped with information on lighting, composition and so forth. I look forward to participating with future assignments accordingly.

Hi, my name is Kerrin and I just joined DPS last week. I'm from Silver Spring, MD which is just outside of Washington, DC. Currently I'm staying in Naples, Italy with my boyfriend. I've been into photography for a long time but recently started getting excited about it again. I just got a Canon Rebel XTi (400D) and have 3 lenses - 28-135mm USM IS, 75-300mm USM, and 24mm - that I used with my Elan 7. I've been having so much fun with it. Going through the articles on DPS and seeing the photos people have posted in the forums is really inspiring me. I hope to use the things I learn here to make my photography better. I look forward to doing the assignments and getting feedback on my work.

Ciao!

Default Hello

My name is Julie and I live in Georgia. I recently received an Olympus E-510 for my birthday, which is alot of camera compared to what I am used to!! LOL! I am still reading the manual and trying to figure out what the heck everything means. I am learning little by little everyday. I stumbled across this site when I was trying to figure out how to adjust my white balance (and what exactly that meant). I look forward to everyone's help/feedback. -Julie

Hi everyone. I've been lurking on the boards for a couple weeks and thought I'd actually introduce myself. I'm Chris, a 23 year old dad from Virginia Beach, VA.

I've been in photography since I was 13. I got my first camera to take pictures of my friends and I riding our BMX bikes down at the ocean front and tried hard to recreate what was popular in the magazines at the time. Soon after that, I got into music and cars and photography followed closely with that as well.

When I met my girl friend, now wife, she showed me that photography was an art, not just a point and shoot world. I bought a Rebel XT to learn with and haven't put it down.

Default Greetings

Hi everyone,

I've been using a Kodak DX6490 for the past three years, and am eagerly awaiting delivery of my first DSLR, an Olympus E510 with the two kit lenses. My husband has recently taken up photography, and is learning with a Kodak Z712 IS and a Fuji finepix F31fd. We live in the East of France and we're expecting our fourth child in just under a month.

Regards

Lucy

Hello Darren , Great site.

My name is Edwin Morgan. I have been a Commercial / Editorial Photographer in Raleigh, NC for approximately 20 years. I have been shooting digital since the introduction of the first medium res fuji camera. I shoot with the Rebel XT, 20 D and Eos 1ds mark II and will be buying a 40 D later this week. I think digital cameras are the best invention since sliced bread!

I also have a photography Blog. Is this the proper forum to mention it or would that be rude? I would love to have more readers and posters. I'm sure every blogger hopes for that. Please let me know if this is an acceptable place to introduce folks to my Blog.

Edwin Morgan.

P.S. I will be checking out your other site shortly

My name is Annie & I live in Staffordshire in the English Midlands. My passion is watching F1 motor racing & the travelling around the world this brings.

When I'm not taking OK photos in beautiful places like Milan & Barcelona & poor photos of Ferraris, I like walking near my home & watching & photographing the local wildlife.

I currently have a S3IS & am hoping to get a 40D for Christmas.

I am really looking forward to making friends on here & maybe sharing my interests.

Thumbs up Hi

Hey everyone..my name is Kim..and..I'm an addict

*crowd goes "Hi Kim..."*

I'm a 25 year old danish guy living in sweden who got this intrest in taking photos that just isn't a simple point-and-shoot picture.

It started out with my dad, whos always been into taking pictures and stuff, so when he bought a Nikon D50 i started to fool around with it and a friend of mine showed me a couple of tips. Soon I wanted my own cam so i decided to buy a Nikon D80 and i'm sure i got a cam that's gonna last for a long time.

My friend also gave me a link to the blog of this site and i must say that I've been really impressed over some of the guides, how well-written and down to earth they are, so "normal" people like myself can understand them

I'm pretty new in this world and there's alot of terms and expressions i dont really control yet. but i guess practise makes perfect.

I got some pictures online, both in my own gallery and at my flickr-place, so if anyone is curious please drop by:

Oh yeah...addicted to taking nice pictures
