Hi,
I'm a recent graduate from University of Washington in Seattle and drove to the East Coast Washington a couple months ago. Brought my trusty Panasonic Lumix with me and have tons of photos, a few of which I like. I want to become a better 'snapshot' photographer so I can spend more time looking around the world than at my LCD screen. I tend to shoot everything, but I especially enjoy the abstract and the overlooked. Recently discovered Picasa (have a Mac-grr), so with a little touching up the number of pictures I'm proud of have been increasing.

Rowan Welcome to dps! Glad to see you jumped right in. I have Picasa, too. Very handy for basic editing. Would love to see some of your travel pics.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I've been off and on trying my hand at photography for the last few years. And I head back to school for an associates degree in photography this August.

I have very little gear atm, but I'm getting there. Atm I use a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. And I'm just learning to use filters, I have Cross 6x, MC UV, and Circular-Polorizer.

I shoot just about anything that catches my eye. Mostly nature and animals though. I have most of my photos uploaded to my Picasa web album, if you're interested. But like I said, I'm still new at this, and am still working on my confidence about it also.

Hello =) I'm Amy, currently living in Salem Or. I'm a web and graphic designer that really wants to be a full time photographer but I have a lot of learning to do and money to save for a better camera. I'm currently using a Canon S2 IS and hope to move up to a Rebel XTi early next year.

My perferred photography is landscapes and nature, but I love to take portraits...I just suck at it! Still learning the settings on my camera and general photography rules and tips. That's kind of why I'm here =)

Welcome Amy. You've come to the right place to learn. There's a lot of expertise here, don't be afraid to ask.

Hey,

My name is Mark. I am an American who lives and works in Mostar, Bosnia Hercegovina with my family. It is a great place to live. Beautiful! There are plenty of opportunities for taking pictures. I don't have great equiptment, just a Olympus C 740, but it does fine. The assignments are great. Thanks for making it possible.

Hello to all...from Iowa...
just discovered this site about a month ago after purchasing a Nikon D80 and looking for tips on everything from UV filters to lenses and and any other tips I can stumble upon...I am a huge Minnesota Twins fan as you can tell by my sign in name...
I have a couple of kids and enjoy taking pics of my kids baseball teams and posting them on Picasa for the rest of the team to download and print out...they really like the action shots and have stopped bringing their cameras to games because they know I will be there shooting...I work in Television Production, shooting video for the past 18 years...but have always enjoyed still photography...Have have various SLR's including a Minolta M and Pentax ZX, and cannot imagine being without my Digi-SLR!! I have access to some nice non-linear editing systems with the latest versions of Photoshop on them, which I try to take advantage of. Have been working on making 12x18 posters for my sons traveling team from shots from various games with the teams logo and about 8-10 shots on each one...
Looking forward to taking on some of the 'assignments' and learning as much as I can!!!!
Tony

Mbsbih I think you're our first member living in Bosnia Hercegovina. Glad you are enjoying our assignments and that you are sharing your shots with us.

TW1NS (Tony)Welcome to DPS. Hope to see some of your baseball shots. Maybe you have some good advice for the other photogs here that like to shoot sports, too.
