Default Newbie! Eh!

Val from Victoria, BC, Canada. Just got a new Canon 400D for Mother's Day. I have had a digital for several years and I am the Mom or Auntie that loves to take all the photos at every family event. Photos to me are memories of everything great I want to remember!! I am personally challenging myself to take better photos and that is why I have joined DPS. Currently I would like some direction on Fireworks Photos with July 1st coming up! Any tips?? Next I have to get a Flickr account....
Val

Welcome Val Check out the post on the DPS Blog about how to photograph fireworks. Hopefully some of those tips will be helpful to you. Let me just say, the tripod is your best-friend for fireworks

Hello. I am Chloe and I am 16 and I've been interested in photgraphy for quite a while but am not very good at it yet because I don't know much. I am trying to learn but everyone here uses such dificult words for me! And abbreviations..
I don't own a camera, I steal Mum's instead but it isn't very good. I plan to buy my own in August. I am thinking a canon ixus. Apparently cannons are the best..
??

Our family doesn't really go anywhere exciting so at the moment I have to rely (is that spelt right?? It looks weird) on my backyard and surrounding area around my small town to entertain me with their beauty.

People here seem very nice though.

Oh and I also have a flickr but it isn't very good. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8721172@N05/

Hi, Helga here, AKA the beachcombers on flickr. I have a finepix S9600 which I hope is helping me improve all the time.
I will probably be a lurker for a while till I get the hang of things, forums not being my strong point, this seems a good place to start though.

HI, I'm Lori. Just found this sight and I think It's great. I'm still learning, just a beginner. But I love taking pictures. I have two kids 5 and 9 and a very great husband. Now that my little one will start kindergarten, I hope to spend much of my day shooting photos. My dad also loves photography so this is something we do together. He will be joining this site shortly.

I have a Nikon D50, Nikkor 70-300 4.5-5.6, Micro Nikkor 105mm 2.8,
Nikkor 18-70 and a nice backpack to hold it all. (with extra space of course )

Welcome Helga! Don't worry about being a lurker, but don't be afraid to post a shot or ask a question. We're noobie friendly!

Default Greetings

Hello...my name is Chace. I live in the Oklahoma City area. New to this site and digital photography. I am learning so much on this website...so grateful for all of the information available. I am learning on my Fuji F20 and already getting the itch to upgrade to dslr. Not sure how to insert a link here for the flickr site but I have a few pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/chace_nicole/

Thanks for looking
