hi i'm janine, but known as JB to all my friends. i'm a canadian living in ireland since '98. i'm going to be 30 this year and have been a graphic designer for years but i'd prefer to do photography! i've had cameras all the time since i was 9 years old, but i only really started getting serious about it a few years ago when i bought my D80. i still have some nice pics i took with my older cameras... but i just liked pointing & shooting back then whereas now i want to know everything & more. i find this website really helpful, useful and full of knowledge. i'm grateful for such a resource!

Hi, my name's Erika. I live in Los Angeles, and I'm working on my MFA in Film Production at USC. I got a Canon Digital Rebel XT for Christmas two years ago so that I could work on my photography skills in the hopes that I could also improve my cinematography skills. I still think I've got a long way to go, so hopefully I can learn from everyone here! I've been following the blog for a while now, but wanted to get started in the forum.

Default Complete rookie!

Hi there - my name is Pat, and I'm a 40 year old father of 2, and have always enjoyed taking photos as a hobby - had a 35 mm Yashica camera that lasted me from college in the late 80s through the late 90's, and have gradually progressed thru various digital point and shoot cameras over the years.

Moved up to the big leagues, and recently got a nikon D5000, and I'm fumbling my way along, trying to learn the art of photography, and recently discovered this great forum - I've learned so much already from experts here!

Thanks in advance to everyone for the help you'll be providing me!

Pat

Default New and hoping to improve!

Hi,

I am 28 years old, married with a 7 month old baby boy in good old Maine. I've liked taking pictures in the past but since my son was born I've found so many more reasons to pick up a camera! After working with a 60$ polaroid P&S for a year (which I have some nice photos from) my husband finally let me buy my very first DSLR- a nikon d5000. I've taken a few pictures already and absolutely love it; I am very excited to learn how to use it to its full potential!

Default Newbie photographer

Hi,

My name is Omar, I'm Palestinian living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I have always wanted to have a professional camera, as I have passion towards photography. Recently, I pulled the trigger on Canon 500D (T1i), I'm in love with this camera, although I'm still trying to understand all the basics about photography so I can get the best out of it.

I look forward to learning from you.

Happy photography

Omar

It seems the possiblilties are endless with what you can do. I hope to gain improvement with your help and maybe can give some back once I have passed the beginner stage.

Hi, everyone! My name is Laci; I'm new to the board. I spend a lot of time behind a camera and I just adore photography. My son is, of course, my favorite 'subject'.

Hope to learn many more techniques and tips from this board. Thanks for having me.
