Hi, I´ve often read articles from DPS and always been impressed. Finally got around to registering.
I am from Manchester, England but live on a sailboat in the Canary Islands. Sailed a lot but now just live on the boat. My passion for the past 6 years has been photography. Started with a 3mpx Canon Powershot - moved up the range until my Canon EOS 350 and, last year changed over to Nikon - which I love. I have recently sold my D80 and now have a D300s. For around 8 weeks of the year, I travel, with my husband, around the USA on a Moto Guzzi motorcycle. So far we have ridden 27,000 miles. I must have 15,000 photos from the three trips, but unfortunately, the quality of my earlier camera on the trip was not fantastic. Those images are purely for the memories. Next year though....... |

Hi all!!
My names Kayla, I'm 23 and from Melbourne, Australia. I've only just joined the DPS website after reading as much information off of it as I've been able to...Altho theres new stuff everyday so I could be here for a while =) I've been into Photography ever since I did it as a subject back in high school but after that I never had access to an SLR so I just played around with my P&S till 2 years ago I bought my first (and only so far) DSLR off Ebay for $300! A fantastic Olympus E300 with just the standard 14-15mm lens ( No zoom yet =s ) that for the first year and a half that I had it has worked well in its Program mode, till recently I've decided to re-learn all the manual & custom settings for photography! So, thank heavens I've found you all as I'm not planning on doing a course till next year and from what I've read on this site so far... well, who knows if I'll need the course by then! =p Feel free to check out my work on Flickr and I look forward to seeing you all around the forums! =)

Hi all.
Decided to re-introduce myself here. Been MIA-ing awhile from this forum. Busy with other commitments. Anyway, my name is Azmee, from Singapore. Still a teenager. Started photography 2 years back with a Kodak 4Mp camera. Upgraded to a Fuji Finepix S2000HD. Right now, I am using Canon Powershot S5 IS. Also, I might need help in order for me to choose a perfect DSLR for me. I don't need a high-end range camera. I prefer Canon btw. Haha. Will keep you people updated when I'm gonna need help for selection. I hope to learn more stuffs from you all. I have a weakness in photography, which is finding new angles to explore, and a subject to take a picture of it. I'd appreciate if you could support me through my hobby. Hehehe.

Hello, I'm bblaich from Ohio. I got my first DSLR very early in the year (Nikon D60 with 18-200mm lense). I subscribed to the "Photography tips for your weekend" newletters, and have really enjoyed the articles and photographs that other users have posted. Its given me a lot of ideas to work on over the summer and I feel my photography has already become pretty good. I get a lot of compliments on family pictures, etc. I'm just about brave enough to start posting some stuff in your forums...
Thanks for your informative site! |

I'm a newbie and wanted to introduce myself. I live in the great state of Maine and have been learning photography through two mentors, books, and online resources...but mostly practice. I'm shooting on a Canon 20D and mostly use the 50mm 1.8. I just bought the Speedlite 430 EX II and am struggling through that learning process. I had been following the DPS blog and decided that I needed to make an account so I could chat with all of you and see your work and share mine. I look foward to this!

Hi everyone! I'm Abbey from Manitoba, Canada.
I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I was all about taking as many shots as I can for memory's sake (and I'll probably still photograph this way for vacations ), but recently I've started paying attention to things like composition, colours, and any fine detail you can think of. So am I new to photography? Not really. Am I new to the artistic and technical aspect of it? Definitely, yes.I was working with a point and shoot for a long time until I recently splurged on a D300 and a 50mm lens. I haven't actually gotten any great use out of my new camera yet so I hope to get some ideas and inspiration from everyone here and hopefully some critiques one day. Speaking of which, I'd like to add that I thoroughly enjoy the critique forums on DPS. I am on several other forums that do critiques but I find this forum to be the most active and the most helpful. I'm glad to have found this place.

Hi! I'm new to this forum as of yesterday, but i've been reading the tutorials for a bit. I'm an amature, just really started getting into it a few months ago, but having a great time with it. I have a Canon Rebel xsi with me most of the time. i have the standard lens, a 75-300mm and am borrowing a cheapo prime lens, which i love, from my mom. i covet a fish-eye lens but it will be a cold day in hell before i can afford one!
i have two small kids, a four year old daughter and a one year old son, who provide me with limitless photo ops. i really like playing around with interesting angles and perspectives. i've learned alot from DPS already. i'm excited to be here! |

Hi folks,
my name is Wittie, Wittie Ford. I was born somewhere south in the mountains, but there are rumors I come from Cape Canaveral – not true. I do computer work to earn for living. I usually don't answer questions about my age. I live in a healthy family, but I'm not married. They know me as the unexpected media king, a master of science, a child of photography and web design, and very humble. Back before everything started it was the year of 1756 or so. I was wondering why do leaves change color and fall off the trees in autumn. I never managed to answer this question myself. I was busy with a project. 7 days earlier Wittie was sitting comfortably in his master chair in the office, taking sips of a royal hot Bavarian coffee he bought himself from a duty-free shop at the Munich Airport last year. It was heavy traffic on the streets those days, as usual for 6 p.m. But nothing could disturb witmaster’s calmness in this moment. He has just registered **********.**. Wittie took his mobile phone and sent an sms to Joker Jimmy: “affffffffffffff **********.** li veeeee mamoooooooo”. He couldn’t sleep well that night. Glamorous days were going to happen and Witmaster knew it. Last edited by wittie; 11-14-2009 at 08:06 PM. |
