Hi, I am Lois Khalafalla. I am from North Carolina. Mother of 6. I have loved photography since a child. I have more photos of my brothers & sisters children than they do. And I was a child at that time. No mention of the pictures I have of my own children. Just recently after years of prodding from my husband I have the time to persue my dream of being a photographer. I love DPS. I am learning so much. I am in the process of researching for a dslr. That's for all the info. This site is a dream come true. Thanks again. Lois

Hi All, I've been a member on here for a few weeks now I thought it was about time I introduced myself.
My names Tilda, I'm 22 years young. I live in Solihull, England. I used to volunteer for the Army Cadet Force here in the Midlands, but recently left due to politics. As my boyfriend is still a member he is away some weekends so I thought I'd take up a new hobby. I've always been interested in photography but never actually had a good go myself. So I thought here's my chance. I don't have a SLR or a DSLR as I wouldn't know what to do with it so I started of small. I have a Fijifilm Finepix S1500. I've learned quite a lot in the past few weeks on here, I do hope to learn alot more. Thanks DPS ATB Tildskie x |

Hi everyone!
I've been here for a few weeks too and I guess it's time to introduce myself... I'm a 28 yeat old architect, I live in Caracas-Venezuela. I've been interested in photography for a long time, but only recently (this year) I started actually taking the photos myself. I still have little training and A LOT to learn, but I enjoy it a lot and hopefully I'll get better at it. This is a wonderfull and extremely usefull place, I'm so glad i found it! 'cause it's been my "salvation" while I go back to my lessons. Now I'll keep them both!

Ok, I live in Canada and I am relatively new to photography. I'm 16 yrs old and in grade 11. Although I have owned a cheap digital camera for some time now, after beginning a photography course last year, I bought myself a used Canon Rebel (original) in excellent condition along with the kit lens, a zoom lens, reverse macro lens, and some other cheaper stuff off ebay (tripods, remotes, etc.)
I've been following DPS forums for some time now, after my photography teacher got me hooked, but never actually signed up until today. I absolutely love all the great tips&tutorials, but the forum (or what I've seen of it so far) seems just as great! ![]() I enjoy photographing mainly people (candid) and macro (flowers mostly) but am greatly enjoying spreading my wings with help from this site and from my teacher. My flickr photostream is here: Flickr: piratefan308's Photostream although I've gotten a tad bit lazy about posting my photos ...

My name is Susan - I live in Reno, Nevada. I've loved photography as long as I can remember - from the time I got my first Kodak Instamatic when I was five years old. But real life intervened - now I work part-time as an aerospace engineering consultant. Since I started working only part-time, I've really picked up my photography. I love digital, I love photoshop! I have a Canon 5DMkII, 40D, a bunch of lenses and flash. My website is

My name is Juan Antonio but everybody calls me Tony for the confort
!, I'm from Cuba originally but live in Belgium now for 8 years. Photography has always been a frustration to me, my first camara was a Minolta, a gift from my girlfriend, now wife, around 1998 when I was 23 yo. I have no pics of my childhood, which made a photgraphy eagger person out of me, but only a couple of years ago, after having used a Digital Fuji Q1 for a while, I realized I liked this subject more than I would have thought in the first place. I bought a Kodak Z885 and loved the results. off course I was judging on completely subjective criteria, contrary to what a person with the good knowledge on photography will thing of it. Then in one of my trips to my homeland I lost this camera, painful moment. And then I upgraded to a Kodak Z1012, still point and shot but with many features that to me, a complete beginner, result very interesting. now I'm willing to KNOW about this matter, to know how to, when, and what, etc... and that's why I'm happy I have found this place, which in my first day opinion is a massive source of knowledge and guidance. Once I relax a little bit about critics; I think I'll dare to post some of my pics, for you to judge, above all, seeking the guidance I need to make better pics, and learn step by step to become a better photographer. see you all 'round!Tony |

Hi DPS!
My name is MJ, I lived in Maryland all my life. I recently got into photography for a new hobby earlier this year, and surprisingly it's really fun and interesting how the camera sees the world. For my first camera it's a Nikon D60 with Nikkor AFS VR 18-55mm kit lens. I had no knowledge of Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO so I pretty much read learn through books and through some friends and hoping to learn from everyone on DPS as well. It's very nice to meet you all and I hope if anyone else is from Maryland especially in the Hanover, Elkridge, Baltimore, Severn, or Glen Burnie area, maybe we can meet up to take photos at the harbor or where ever sometime! bye!~

Hi, I recently found this forum and website and am enjoying reading here! I thought I would introduce myself. I'm 43 and picked up photography as a serious hobby about 10 years ago when I had my first child. I've been making a living shooting portraits for about 5 years now. I have no eye for other sorts of photography though, and would love to learn more about landscape, macro, and architectural photography! I'm looking forward to learning new things from everyone here!
