Hi everyone, just joined. Got my first SLR, canon rebel, on 9 months ago and have been slowly learning how to use it, but I want to step up my efforts big time now by reading some books, reading lots on here, and actually practicing more.

Hi all
Looks like most of us are in the same boat. Relatively new to serious photography and looking to learn. I'd certainly put myself in that camp. Married with a Lad at Uni. I've returned to photography (Digital) as a hobby having dabbled years ago with my trusty AE1 Cannon. Now moved over to a Sony 350 Alpha. Brilliant for me as it's pretty idiot proof and has given me lots of enjoyment already. I've had a Flickr site for a year or so. Please do drop by and take a look, perhaps even leave a comment;-) . Flickr: Tekedz's Photostream I look forward to seeing other people here's work and sharing as many hints and tips as possible. Chow for now Tekedz |

![]() Your panorama shot is quite nice... Especially, with the multiple lightning channels you captured. Keep up the great work!

Hi, I'm Justin. I'm 22 and new to the site. When I found the site, I instantly fell in love with it. It's chock full of great tutorials and TONS of info! I'm an amateur photographer and I'm being taught by my uncle, who is a veteran photographer of 45 years. He's taught me quite a bit an has helped me become a much better photographer than I ever thought possible. This site has helped us both out in such a short period of time as well! Even old dogs can learn a new trick or 2. Thank you all for your knowledge and input. I have a website to showcase some of my work, take a look at it if your interested... Happy shooting! |

Hi, I'm Sharon living in NYC.
The first time I was intrigued by the intricacies of digital photography was when I was using my family's first digital camera- Canon A70. I had a short trip in San Francisco and I did not understand why it could not take any low light photos. It didn't help that I was already frustrated with the random E18 errors, which seemed to appear randomly. I got back home and read a lot of digital camera reviews. I ended up with the Sony DSC-V3. I was quite pleased by its performance when I went to Las Vegas soon after. Compared with my friends' cameras mine wasn't the slimmest and prettiest, but it actually took some beautiful photos that the others couldn't even manage. I took a beginner's digital photography class in 2005, but it was only enough to get me superficially acquainted with the basic concepts. I also didn't spend enough time practicing the concepts I learned. What I've done since then is set my camera in Auto and if I don't like the results then I fiddle with the aperture and ISO. The trial and error approach isn't really optimal so I've decided to go about this more systemically. I bought Tom Ang's Digital Photography Masterclass and hope to use it as a formal guide with its shooting assignments. I would like to start a thread on my progress with the book, which forum would it be appropriate? Thanks for reading my long intro!

Hi my name is Cindy! Im from the California but have been living in Delaware for the last 10yrs.
Ive owned a Rebel XTI for 2yrs now but just recently stated to how to really utilize my camera. I'm enrolled in a photography associate degree program at a local community college. I'm a doula, breastfeeding peer counselor. I also offer belly casting and placenta encapsulation. I figured offering maternity, newborn, birth and breastfeeding photography would enrich my services even more. I just ordered a 50mm 1.8 lens, I can't wait to get that! Next I will be ordering my first speedlight :O)
