Hello everyone, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steven P. Adams, but everyone calls me Scooba Steve (or increasingly so, just, Scooba).
I've been seriously interested in photography for a little more than a year now (I've been snapping pictures for years though). I've been around art and artist all my life, I've dabbled in many medias (oils, pencils, chalk, airbrush, etc) and to me photography is one more artistic media for me to explore. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you and accumulating as much new knowledge as I can. |

Hi Everyone,
I posted photos and comments before I posted here(sorry) there is just so much to read I didnt even realize we had email on DPS until a few days ago ![]() My name is Mini, I live in Michigan. I have always loved taking photos, and just up graded my camera to a Canon Rebel XS1000D EOS, with 2 lenses. I have all ready learned a great deal from the site and hope to learn more, I probably wont offer to much yet, but someday soon I will know a little more and feel more confident. I posted 3 photos and lost 2-not sure how-then posted a new one and forgot my exif that went with it, so im always learning here. I look forward to learning and sharing photo with everyone. Greetings. My name is Tom. I'm a 40ish, stay at home dad living in Raleigh, NC. I got bit by the photography bug three years ago after bringing my daughter, Kaitlyn, home from China. After looking at the pictures I took in China with my Kodak P&S, I decided I wanted a DSLR. Along with my new hobby, came a bad case of GAS. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) Hopefully I'm over that. :-)
I've second shot a few weddings and recently did my stepdaughter's bridal portraits. Thank goodness she loved them! Cheers, Tom |

Hello to All ! My name is John and I live on the Coast of North Carolina. I am new to photography, well maybe not new. I've tried many years ago to learn photography during the film days, but after spending tons of money on poorly taken pictures I give it up!! Now with Digital I have gotten the photography bug again. I look forward to the vast amounts of knowledge I should get (and share) what I learn from the forums here at DPS. as well as meeting new friends in the Photography arena.
I am Currently Shooting with a Canon 40D -- Lens is a 28-135mm kit lens Again I look forward to meeting my fellow Shutter Bugs out here. Happy Shooting! John |

I'm Bill Pearl of Cornwall, Ontario. Back in the late 70's I was shooting with a 35 mm Pentax F1 Still think it was the best camera ever made. But a long story short, had to sell it to pay my rent. As a result got away from photography for a long while.
Then a few years ago bought a HP Photosmart R707 5.1 MP 24x zoom camera. I was amazed at the quality of the pictures I was getting. Eventually I decided to really get back into my photography in a serious way. So now I am using a Pentax K20D; lens DA 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 AL II. Now I'm broke again and saving up for some accessory items.Hoping DPS can help me improve my pictures and I'm looking forward to chatting with some of you. |

Hello everyone, my name is Gustaf and I'm from a small town in the middle of sweden. I've never done anything like serious photographs before.
10 days ago I bought a photo magazine for my girlfriend because she's thinking about buying a waterproof camera. 7days ago I started reading the magazine, 5day's ago I started to look out for which SLRcamera I should buy. 3 days ago I bought my Nikon D5000 and I love it. Today, after reading my manual beginning to end, I've finally understood how to change my aperture, shutter and ISO settings manually to get them how I want. Now I never want to use the autoprogram again. The way I see my environment has changed dramatically and I never thought I would stand looking at rusty walls comparing angles or begging a rude, ugly kid with a skateboard to pose for me and actually feeling a bit sad when he changed his mind and said no.. I love this and I hope everyone continues to contribute with such excellent and inspiring photos because my dull, boring always-the-same-town has suddenly become a nice place to be. |

Hi, my name is Dani and am probably in the best age a female can be.
I'm from Czech Republic but currently living in Dublin, Ireland.I was taking snaps since I got an automatic Pentax film camera approx. 8 years ago, then moved on to Canon A530 and then ended up with Canon 450D in November last year (btw: love shopping for camera accessories; is there any other woman here who thinks that shopping for camera accessories is more fun than shopping for cloths??? ) I'm probably still pretty much at the beginners level but I love taking photographs and have a good motivation to improve (and even greater support) - another two pretty good photographs in the family with years and years of experience.Joining DPS is my first attempt to come out of my comfort zone and try to join a different "photo community" than the one I was offered and introduced to... Looking forward to getting to know you all!
