Hey, everyone. I'm completely new and clueless. After 30-[mumble mumble] years of being a point-and-shoot person, I've recently bought a Nikon D40. So far it's been a lot of fun. Just as I feel I'm starting to get a concept, though, I become aware of 5 or 6 other ones I've never even heard of, and each of those relies on the interconnected workings of a dozen variables. Yikes.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to find this site and all of you wonderful people. I look forward to getting to know some of you and learning a lot.

Hi, my name is Hannah. I am 29 living in PNW. Have been shooting with a Rebel XT for about 4 years and just upgraded to the Canon 50D. I am definitely still learning, but also have learned a TON off of DPS. I'm so glad I found it and decided to join!

Default New to forum

G'day, my name is Phill and I have been into photography for more than 40 years, mainly film and recently with digital point and shoot. I am about to embark on a new experience with a soon to be purchased Pentax K20D. My current film camera is a Pentax K2 and still have my first camera - a Voigtlander 35mm bellows.
I am new to any type of forum and after I post this, I am not sure where to pick up the replies. I posted one a couple of days ago and can't find any trace of it or replies, if any.

Cheers,

Phill[

Thank you for your suggestion. I am very new at photography. Have always loved looking at great photos be they portraits, landscapes, still life, etc., however, everytime I picks up a camera I had a very poor experience. When I found this forum, it gave me some courage to try again. I starting reading the postings, going through the mini lessons and then began experimenting with a little success (at least from my initial experiences). Photography is a very challenging hobby, I would like to get better at it. I think I have found the right place to start. Thanks
NSBGuy
