Hi Everyone,
I have been subscribed to the dps newsletter for some time but haven't ventured into the forums till now. I got my first dslr a year ago and have been hooked on learning how to use it ever since. i currently have a d200, with a couple of standard zooms and a couple of primes. i joined this forum to learn, be inspired, and give/receive creative feedback.

Thanks!
Jay

Hey

Nice to meet you all!

I'm Alice, 20 years old from England. I'm studying on an art course, specifying in scuIpture, but am hoping to get onto a photography degree in a year or so!

I developed an interest in photography last year and started to experiment. I've recently started selling prints in my Etsy shop which is very encouraging!

I still have a hell of a lot to learn and can't wait to get stuck into the forums and how to's!

Smile getting started..

Hi all - I'm a newbie to this site/forum, based in Sydney AUS. I've been poking around DPS for a few months now, and figured its time to jump in and start posting.

I've been using a Canon Powershot s80 for a couple of years which gave me a little creative freedom with Av & Tv etc, but i couldnt resist upgrading.. now iI have a 50D to play with too.

Look forward to reading and posting, but love the idea of critiquing and being critiqued

Hi all! Im Arnah.

I'm here because I need to learn more about photographic techniques and PP. Im going to the US for a month in November and want to be able to take beautiful photos of our trip. At the moment, im only happy with about 40% of how my photos turn out - that needs to change!

Myself and the husband, my sister, and sisters boyfriend went interstate on a whim / road trip a few weeks ago, arrived around 2pm, and left for the drive home around midday the next day. So uh, not even there 24 hours and I took 632 photos. I edited 134 of them and pretty much scrapped the rest. That kind of reinforced what Id suspected, that I was taking far too many uneducated 'hope-this-works' photos with a really limited knowledge outside point and shoot!

I have a canon 400D (Rebel in the US) with the double lens kit. I have a lensbaby composer (which is what has forced me beyond point and shoot!) and Im looking into buying a wide angle lens. I use LR2, and want to get/build my knowledge with Photoshop.

So here I am! Ive spent the last few days reading everything I can, and look forward to learning much more here!

Hi everyone,

I've just recently joined this site and I'm enjoying all the artwork I see.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia.

I just got my first DSLR last night - Nikon D60 and am really looking forward to learning how to use it and creating some great shots.

I have always been interested in photography but never really started to get into it myself until my son was born last year and I started doing little photo shoots of him. I've taken a few photos I was pretty happy with for an amateur

Some of my faves:
Guitar, Sailor, Sailor 2, Jellybean, Sunlight

My husband got me this camera hoping that with our second baby on the way I will continue to learn how to be a good photographer and really get stuck into this hobby.

Thanks
Jazmin79

Default Intoducing myself: G'day to you all

Hello,
My name is Vanessa and I have recently joined DPS. I'm thrilled to be here as I have much to learn. I hope to share my photo's with you and to enjoy your submissions too.
I am most happy when I have my camera in my hand. I have only had my camera for just under a year now. Before I just used a point and shoot, so this is still all new to me.

My gear: Nikon D60 with Nikkor 18-55 and 55-200mm kit. I use a Inca tripod. I'm so excited to be a part of the beautiful world of photography, however small it may be. I love the outdoors, ocean, camping, snorkelling and lots of dark chocolate. The taste of chocolate lingers for a while, but moments in time captured in pictures last forever.

I take my camera with me everywhere. I'm the designated family photographer and I love it! Portraite is not my strength, I love nature, especially the ocean and early morning or evening and wildlife shots.

Cheers, Vee

Hi!

I'm known as PiRX. I have been interested in photography for couple of years. About half year ago bought my DSLR, which wasn't very much used till last week. Now I have got "click", that I should learn more about photography and this forum looks like a good place to start.

I'm from Latvia, small country in Europe.

I have got Nikon D40 with kit 18-55mm lenses and planing to by Nikkor 55-200mm lens shortly.

Looking forward for cooperation,
Ivars

Hi ya!

My name is Rod, and I'm addicted to the shutter button. I've been taking snapshots with inexpensive film cameras for decades, and made the move to digital quite a few years ago with the purchase of a Fuji 2600 Zoom. I used a couple other point and shoots and super zooms since that time, but got seriously hooked when my wife bought me my first decent camera, a Canon A590.

It didn't take me long to max out that camera, so a couple weeks ago I broke down and bought a Nikon D60 with 18-55 kits lens. I've also ordered a Sigma 50mm/2.8 macro lens, as I felt the 18-55 was lacking in the close focus department. Next on the hit list is a Nikon 55-200 VR.

Most of my shots are action shots of my kids (Animal 1 and 2) or automotive related. I have much to learn, so please feel free to critique any of my posts. All input, both positive and negative will be happily recieved.

Rod

Smile New here

Hi, I'm Katie, glad to be here.
I've always had an interest in photography and I have quite a few digital cameras but I have just recently bought a dslr camera and am determined to take great photos (unlike years ago when I bought a pricey film slr and lenses and never took the thing out of auto focus mode).
I'm currently enrolled in an 'intro to photography' class and am learning a ton and have recently put my camera on 'M' mode for the first time
I'm really like it so far!
Glad to find this forum, I hope to learn a lot!
-Katie
