Good day to all!
I am Ruel, Working as an architect / scheduler here in Manila, Philippines. Presently married with 2 beautiful but stubborn daughter (5 & 1 year of age - i love them so much). I love to admire photos a lot since i was a kid but just recently started taking photos as art aside from taking photos of my family. I wanted to get a DSLR camera but my wife bought me a compact one (birthday gift), guess i'll have to make the best of what i have right now, and i know you guys will be helping me every step of the way... Thanks & Cheers! p.s. Darren - this website really rocks my world!

Hi I'm Jen
I studied photography in High School (15 years ago now!) and remembered loving it, but then forgot about it until a couple of years ago when I started travelling a lot. I like landscapes and cityscapes and am trying to do a bit more with portraiture. I did a short course to understand the technical side of digital camera's recently - and since then, discovering this site has been great as a reference to what I learnt and also for learning more and more ![]() I have just upgraded from an Olympus E-500 to a Nikon D90, bought it yesterday so looking forward to getting out and shooting this weekend! |

Hi all, I'm Edwin
I just started to get into photography more seriously about a year ago, after dabbling with several different point and shoots, experimenting with settings. Finally, I decided to take the plunge with the purchase of a dslr, a Canon XSi, and I haven't been happier since! I've posted a few pictures on my flickr site, but I finally decided to post some pictures on dps for some critique from the pros on this forum. Hopefully I'll be able to take photos with the same skill as some of the incredibly talented photographers on this forum!

I live in Sydney, Australia but grew up in Switzerland. I won my first kodak camera when I was in primary school for a drawing competition and have always enjoyed taking pictures. I lost my Olympus camera last year and the insurer replaced it with a Fujifilm Finepix S100FS which prompted me to take a course at the local community college (just so I could understand the buttons) and I discovered manual shooting. Wow! I'm mainly interested in sceenery, macro and what I call creative photography - the quirky, unusual or plan every-day. There's so much beauty out there.
I also have a Olympus Tough 1050 mainly because of the weight and ease of use. I intend to travel East Africa & Mt Killamanjaro in July and intend to take some awsome pics with both cameras. I'm still a bit confused on how to post threads - what's the difference between quote and quick reply? etc. PS. I'm 58 years young but don't hold this against me. My name is Jenn. I live in Tampa Florida and I am 26 years old. I am fairly new to photography but found that i have not only a passion but a talent for it about 2 years ago. I recently started a photography business named Hogue Studios. I have been looking for some helpful hints and information about photography in the most generic of places(all leading me to the same lame answers)!
I am hoping that DPS can not only help me with the questions that ive been dying to answer but also the "DUH?" questions as well. I currently shoot with a NIKON D60 and I am working with iphoto and Aperture on the MacBook. I have shot three weddings to date and have scheduled another in july. I have found in my wedding experiences that they are sometimes stressful and aggravating but so worth it when you see the end results. I am looking to expand my business and someday take the pictures that i can be proud of! |

Hi, I am looking forward to getting to know you and vice versa. I just wrote a massive intro and got timed out so I will have to come back again. Mostly was wanting to say I have never been interested in the technical side of photography before. Never wanted to know anything apart from press a button but now I have the urge to learn and produce images worthy of ink.

Hey,
My name is Tiffany, I'm eighteen and I live in New York. I started taking online photography classes at AAU about six weeks ago and actually found this site while googling tips because I just only recently bought my DSLR camera and needed some help with it. So far I've read some articles on here and love them. They're helpful and this is a great resource site for me. :] |

Hello Everyone. My name is Lauren. I am from Philadelphia, PA. I'm 26 years old and work for an investment company. I like to play piano and sing karaoke. I'm not a stranger to photography, but never had any real formal training. I'm still an amateur.
I am hoping to do a crossover at some point and formally train myself, perhaps even pursue a career with it. I currently shoot with a Nikon D80. It is the love of my life and comes with me every where I go. I am fascinated by everyday things, people, those moments when you think no one is watching. I feel my best when camera is in hand. I work in theatre in my spare time and have had a chance to take pictures of productions and learned a thing or 2 about lighting. I am looking forward to sharing photos and receiving feedback from all of you. I'm ready to learn all I can!! ![]() I'm new to Forum discussions in general. So... I hope I'm doing this right. haha |

My name is Beth and I am 22 years old, been seriously interested in photography for about a year now, and for the past several years have been midly interested (mainly taking pictures just on vacations). I found this website through a google search and have been addicted for the past few months now! I love photography and hope to expand my talent as the years go by.
