ArghMonkey Welcome to DPS! If you are looking for your EXIF data, it should be right there on your flickr site under "Additional Information" and "More Properties". If you use flickr, we should be able to link back to your flickr site by clicking on your image. Check out this section of the FAQ to see if you're posting the right way.
Interesting, I didn't know flickr was started in Vancouver, BC. See you around the forum!

Default Introduction

I am J.B. Churchill from Frostburg, MD. I'm pretty new to the forum and to some extent new to digital photography. I took photography and advanced photography in college (early 90's) and got way into it for awhile. I bought my own darkroom enlarger and chemicals and 100' rolls of 35mm film for my Nikon SLR's and used to make these Ortho Lith film B&W Posterizations.

I am also a birder and got into digital by way of wanting to do what we call digiscoping. I have a Leica APO scope and a Nikon Coolpix 4500 (4MP) and an adapter that clamps the camera to the scope eyepiece. I've been using that setup for a year or two now. I swore it took good pics at some point but I've been very disappointed lately. Everything seems to come out blurry. Maybe I'm spoiled now having bought my first digital SLR this past November 07.

I now have the Canon EOS Rebel XTi and am learning as much as I can about using it. I hope to use the camera for bird photography (and everything else that I can photograph).

I hope to be able to contribute some pleasing photographs to DPS and to glean as much learning as possible by way of critique, and from reading the posts of others.

I'm living in Ontario, Canada. I'm just getting into Digital Photography, I bought a Rebel XT about 9 months ago. I am pleased w/the camera and gear that I have collected since. I am taking a Digital Photography course in hopes of being able to take my camera off of the auto and preset modes and really use it to its potential. I just find all this talk about Aperture's and F-Stops so bloody confusing. Hopefully this site will help me along.

I'm Kenny Howse.

I live near Grantham, Lincolnshire in the UK with my wife (M) and daughter (S).

I've been interested in photography for many years but only decided to do something about it in the last year or so when I opened up a Flickr Account (Bluesoul97) and started a college course in September 2007 which I'm still attending.

My Gear - I use a Canon EOS 30D DSLR and own an assortment of lenses for it. I also have a Olympus SP550 (I think) point and shoot digital camera.

I have DPS on my Google home page so I see every day when there is something new, thanks very much for creating this site and for all the hints and tips so far!

jbchurchill Hi J.B.! I used to do darkroom work, but only b&w. I still have an enlarger and a few other items left in my basement gathering dust! Hope you are enjoying your XTi. I have one, too, and I love it. I took a look at your gallery. You have some nice bird shots on there.

Richard Cranium Welcome to DPS! Love that avatar! Feel free to ask any questions you want here. We are very newbie friendly and would like to see you get off of the auto modes, too. Don't worry, you will learn it! Check out this post on our DPS blog.

Highlander363 Hi Kenny! Glad to have you join us! I took a look at your flickr site. Really like that monochrome tree with the blue filter. How's your portfolio coming along? Looking forward to seeing you around the forum!

Default Hello, my name is Guillermo and i'm a photoholic

Well. My name is Guillermo, i'm 24 years old and i live in México.

I love music, heavy and death metal mostly, but i enjoy clasical, folk, celtic, medieval...etc, etc... I'm a computer engineer, i love camping and i used to be a boyscout.

Favorite movies: Leon The proffessional, The mission, The Crow, Black Hawk Down, Amores Perros, Snatch, Fight Club, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings.

Favorite Bands: Opeth, Tool, Dream Theater, Corvus Corax, Sopor Aeternus, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Therion, Gardenian, Anathema, Tantric, Days of the New... and a long etc.

I started in photography some time ago with a Nikon Coolpix 2100, a point and shoot camera but i took some really great photos with it, amazing quality and nice macro performance. Now i own a Kodak 712 Is... nice manual features but a lame manual focus. I droped to the floor when i was taking it out of the box, now i don't know if the Image Stabilization system works well.

Anyway... my favorite subject is night photography, architecture, flowers... the easy stuff and some others...

Ok.. here are some of my favorite (recent) shots..

Hi, I'm Kim! I literally JUST joined and hopefully this will be a good experience for me

I'm 19 and I've been interested in photography since I was 7 when my oldest brother took a photography class in high school, so as soon as I could take one, so did I. I loved it. I used a 30-year-old Nikon Nikkormat for the two years that I was in my photography class, and I learned the ins and outs of a manual SLR. As a broke college student, I can't afford the film for a manual, so I had to switch to digital, and whatever happened to be on hand, which is a Sony Cybershot DSC-H1 that he bought on clearance over a year ago. I've since commandeered it and now he asks ME if he can borrow it

I have a basic studio set up in my basement. A black backdrop, a (crappy) white backdrop, two lights and a tripod, but it's working out ok. If I use the white backdrop I have to photoshop out the seams, but other than that, it's pretty ok.

I found DPS a few months ago, and lurked for a while, but it got put on the back burner, just like everything else. Yesterday I met a guy who's a model and works for a fetish production company. We sat around looking at photographs from other photographers, and I realized that I really need to step it up if I want to be as good as I would like to be. So here I am!

I'm going to school for advertising, which is funny since the artist in residence at my high school told me that I was too scared to go into anything art related.

I'm babbling.

Mefistofeles Hi Guillermo! Well, if you're a photoholic, you're in the right place. Everyone else here is one, too! That's a very colorful pottery picture and a moody low light shot. You might want to post them in "Share Your Shots" where more people might see them. Hope to see more of you around the forum!

tweetspie Hi Kim, welcome to DPS! Gald you decided to stop lurking and join in. You'd be amazed at what you can learn here and in the DPS blog. Feel free to try our assignments or post one of your shots for critique. See you around!

Hi Everyone,

I've been interested in photography for about a year now. I've recently
purchased a Canon A570 IS. I've just been using auto mode for now. I've been reading as much as I can on the basic's, becuz I would like to move out of auto mode to take pictures.

I have found out that I can get a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens and some basic filters for my Canon camera. So, I'm in the process of getting them so that I can branch out alittle. Right now I only have time on the weekends to shoot. I have very beautiful desert surrounding me in Arizona, and I would love to learn how to shoot it.

I'm a hand's on learner though, so I've been looking into classes or workshops
close by.

My creative process has branched out from writing to photography. My
goal to do photo manipulation, and go into video editing. But I'm loving this media, and I think it's a good part of my process into understanding things.

Wolfeyes...RJ
