Hi Darren,
You have an excellent website. I am Ian, from South Africa, the web administrator of the Vereeniging Photographic Society. I by chance "stumbled upon" your site. You do have some very exciting blogs, tips and comments which will be of value to all interested and practicing photography. If possible, we as a photography club, would be obliged if we could get an article from you or one of your bloggers, to be published on our website, from time to time. Our site:http://www.vps-photo.org Regards, Ian Smook |

My name is Traveler Wendell. I live in the Gainesville, Florida area. My wife and I own a small photography business, AgoraPhoto.Biz.
I've been interested in photography forever but never could afford to put much film through the camera. That limited how much practice I got severely. Then came digital and battery chargers and I was off. (Well, always been a little off but) Main camera is a Canon 10-D but have a number of point and shoots. I am self taught, so I missed some of the basics but somehow I still do okay. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this site and hopefully imparting a little bit of what I've learned. |

Murfam Hi DJ, glad to have you join us! I remember Kodak Brownies! Lots of us here came from film and are now in love with digital. First of all, flickr, which is free. Here's a tour and here's a place to sign up. This is my site, if you want to know how it looks. Once you sign up and post your pictures there, just follow the FAQ at the top of this page for posting photos. If at any point you're not sure what to do, pm me or any other mod here and we'll help you through it. You could also post a question here in the forum and I'm sure you'll get plenty of help!

Splinter Hi Ian! We're glad you find our site helpful. You might want to email Darren with your request as he may not see it here.
Travwend Hi Traveler, what a unique name! I loved film photography but digital is so much fun, epecially economically speaking. Once you get over the cost of the camera, it is so nice not to have to buy film! Looking forward to seeing you around the forum. I'm sure you'll have a lot to add. |

My name is Ella. I started getting into 35mm in high school, then entered college and the joys of limited income so couldn't develop much film. Just got a Canon Xti the beginning of this week and learning all about digital. After searching through all the stuff here I've figured out that I know absolutely nothing, at least it feels that way. I'm planning on going out on my first photo walk this weekend and hope to have some stuff to post somewhere in all of this. Looking forward to getting some c&c from people in this forum.

I am Jamie from Helston, Cornwall UK.
I am a blogger of sorts, hooked up with Darren through Problogger and finally came here to see what is what. I have no experience in the art / photography world and have had my Nikon D40 for 7 days now. I prefer natural photos, images looking like they should without graphics being added. I guess nature will be my main stay, but lets see its early days still. I would love loads of advice and am still getting my head a round apperture numbers being backwards in my own head. |

Hi,
My name is Joanne and I have enjoyed taking pictures for a long time. I live in Northern Virginia. My kids are older now and don't need me (at least they don't think they do) and I have more time on my hands and I would like to use that time learning more about digital photography and taking pictures. I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I am new to forums (this is my first) so I am a little shy about it but I am hoping to learn a lot! Last edited by josie1157; 02-09-2008 at 10:38 PM. |
