For those of us who have firworks shots, I would love to see them - they are all just so different. Here is one that I would like to share. Can I see what you have? Here are links to some of the other "hot messes" Next year, I will do better... Link1 link2 link 3 I am being hard on myself - I know, but we learn from our mistakes...Oh all photos are hand held and with a 50mm lens

I took a few pics for a neighbour. I will show you them at some point, but for now, here are two pictures I took that I wanted to represent sci-fi explosions and colour bursts:

I hope this is liked. I will post more standard ones later if I remember

I'm jealous of all the firework pictures I miss the Chicago ones. But, I'll settle for the fact that there's a winter carnival here in about 2 weeks with fireworks on a beach. So I'll have to bookmark this thread to come back to

Exciting Pat!

Umm, let's see, lately it's been in the low 40's at night, with a pretty strong wind. So it'll be cold, but not sub-zero cold. And in the days, between 50-60 with wind and potential rain. At least in the Wellington area. All bets are off for other areas in the middle of winter. The South Island and the middle of the North Island just got socked with snow over the weekend.

This was taken last year, July 4, 2007 - from the Arlington, VA shore of the Potomac River across from the Lincoln Memorial. Great spot to shoot the Capitol Fourth fireworks because you can use a tripod, don't deal with security, and have this fabulous view! (AND I had a parking space within 20 paces of where I had my camera set up - it totally rocked!)
