Interesting and scary for a newbie. :P

So do only certain sections have restrictions or all sections have limits on how many photos one can post per day? Not that I have that many to post, but it would be nice to get an idea and not be kicked out on my very first week here.

Also, where do I ask questions related to forum matters?

PS: My original intro thread never got posted. I couldn't figure out why, where do I ask about that?

Man I'd rather have an infraction than an 'infarction'....

How about "BAN HAMMER"?

Well, I certainly had fun reading this forum!! I consider myself a decent photographer but I'm terrible at this "on line, web, stuff". I'm an old guy, and can't seem to get a handle on some things!!, so I'll probably not be the teachers pet. But it does seem that some folks have very thin skin...Chris

I'm new here too. I have a nice point and shoot camera, and I take alot of pictures. I love posting them on here in different places, just because I like looking at other peoples photos, and it makes me want to share some of mine. I've never posted anything to actually ask for a critique, but it would never bother me.

I have never tried to read all the rules and learn them. Just seemed much easier to read the rules for the particular place I was posting in. LOL. Then I don't mess up. (too much).

I agree alot of people wear their feelings on their sleeves. Guess that happens everywhere. But I must say, there are a few (not many) people here that are quite rude in their critique. Also happens everywhere. So I just take what I need from rude comments and still try to learn from them.

I love this website. I have learned alot here. Still need to learn tons more. And there are a ton of people here that are willing to help. I think the moderators here do a great job keeping it a neat, organized unit. But they are running the show, so someone will always hate them. LOL ( I have set on enough boards to realize how that works! )

Hats off to all the moderators and all the people willing to take the time to help. Or even just to post what you have to say, cause if I read enough, I learn alot.

ahem, that was my 4 cents worth. LOL. Have a great day all!

I'm pretty new here myself, and haven't found any of the rules to be that unreasonable. Even with the 800 px or 740 px or what-have-you, I saw plenty of instructions guiding me on what to do so that whatever I posted was in protocol. Too many other places tell you what they expect of you, but don't aid you in doing that. This forum is different, and I like it.

I did have one of my critiques vanish. I'm assuming it wasn't deleted for any sort of "infraction" as I didn't get any sort of PM about it and, to my knowledge, I did everything I was supposed to. I think I pretty much just answered my own question in that thread, and that took care of itself.

On a side note, I'm perfectly fine with words like "infraction." A little vocabulary expansion is good for us. The Internet's done enough dumbing-down of our language as it is. It's about time we used it to help us improve it.

Oh, and the eye thing definitely freaked me out.

You could use Breach for the first offense, then if the keep on doing the offense upgrade them to a Transgression, and finally, just before you send out the DPS assasins to perform an infarction on them, give them one final chance by awarding them a Violation.

I am fine with the infraction, but sending hitmen out to perform infarctions on people, is this the Paparnazi's? I think restricting the blood flow to ones body parts to cause them to die is tough treatment for a forum breach of ettiquette!!
