Default Expensive time of the year

Anyone else find that all people want at the moment is to take your money?
I get several calls a day asking if I would like to attend this wedding fayre or advertise in that suppliment, it's madness. And sometimes, more often than not, it's worth doing.

In fact, a couple of hours ago I agreed to do a photo booth job for free. :O I know! But I consider this a great promotional opportunity, plus it's this Sunday and I haven't been out of the house for weeks. It'll cost ME about £200 to do, which will be the most expensive promotional job I've done yet. (details / bragging rights to follow on Monday )

Add on a few £99+VAT magazine/paper suppliment advertisments and it's going to be an expensive month!

Like I said though, some are worth it: £120 for a 1/4 A4 suppliment in association with the National Wedding Expo with a catchment of around 65,000 .... some not so much, £105 for a 8cm x 10cm local news paper ad :P

Yeah doing jobs and wedding shows has been the best so far, which is why I'm doing this job free as I believe it's great exposure for potential large jobs in the future ($15k-30k).

It'll cost about £200 because I rent the van, logistics mean I have to pay additional fees this time and theres X milage cost on top. Add the fuel and my food for the day, the print costs, paper etc, and it'll be up there somewhere. Thing is, to BUY this type of promotional material would be thousands I imagine.

With the 65,000 supplement I can add tracking codes to see how it performs too. So then it'll go on my yes/no sheet for next year

Nice :P Yeah, it doesn't pack down very small :P There's like 4 7ft metal frames plus a load of other stuff. The worst thing is that the bottom - the first piece to go down when setting up, is packed in the van at the bottom But I'm building a rack system at the moment to deal with that
