Default Any app developers here?

I'd like to see an app (iPhone or Android) that would do the following:

Using my phone take a picture that I may want to come back and shoot with a "real" camera. perhaps when the season is better, or the light is better, or what ever.

It would automatically put in (along with the picture) GPS data, typed or audio notes, season, date, time, compass direction, etc.

It would allow categorizing the pictures with keyword search.

I think something like this would be very useful if like me you often come across opportunities for backdrops (for portraiture), or images when you don't happen to have your DSLR handy, or the season is not ideal, etc...

I know that I come across such things all the time and it would be so very useful, I think so anyway.

Have you checked the Android Market? There's loads of GeoTag apps

iPhone already geotags photos. It will sort them by location. You just can't add notes.

PocketScout does this.

I have it on my iPhone. You'll need a 3GS or higher I believe. You take a pic, add tags, it even shows you the location on a map if you can get a signal.

Check it out in iTunes for more info. Does a bunch of other stuff that I'm too lazy to type out right now but it does everything you're looking for.

Hey Oldwolf, thanks. I'll check it out.

Sounds like it will fit the bill.

So, I settled on Map-A-Pic for the Android. Seems to have all I need and comes with categories pre-set up. I use the Droid more these days anyway. Looks pretty good. We'll see how it does in the long run.

I am an Android developer (among many other things). If you guys ever have an idea, shoot me an IM. If it's a good idea, I'll give you a cut of the profits.

Man, I tried the various apps for the Droid and they suck. The iPhone does a decent job. But, I'd like one for my Droid 3.

The closest one I found that was any good was Map-A-Pic. But, it has so many problems it is useless.

Take a look at it. I'm sure you can develop something along those lines but with significant improvements and enhancements as an app developer/photographer.

Check it out Photoboothguy,. I'd like to know if you do make an app. I'd be happy to beta test it. And buy it.

Default Hey Photoboothguy Droid app wanted

Everyday I wish I had a photo location scout app for my Droid. (I leave the iPhone at the office actually).

As mentioned above, I need an app that allows me to take a picture that I can refer to at a later time and physically go back to the scene and set up a real shot. I am always looking for special backgrounds for portraits and composites.

My perfect app would have the following attributes:

Take a picture with GPS coordinates, date and time, compass showing the direction I am standing
Ability to enter: Title, type of shot (from a customizable drop down menu), location title
Location notes
Share button
Send button
Export notes with pics individually
Export notes by category
Export notes by date range

Can do?
