You may also want to have a look at this (FAQ)

Flickr: Help: Free Accounts, Upgrading and Gifts

If you only want something to display your photographs to better advantage to clients/family/friends there are other sites you may want to consider. I use Zenfolio for that.
Thanks for that link!

Mostly for posting here and sharing with family and friends as I don't see the point of having accounts at multiple places and Flickr fits all my needs for now.
And yes, it's rather cheap.

$25 a year isn't so bad. But multiply that to how long you want to keep your pro status.

$25 a year even for 10 years is very cheap for secure off-site backup that is stored on redundant servers for your protection.

I'd say it's worth the money.

Well, it sounds like all of you think that it's worth it. It seems like a pretty good deal to me. I just wanted to be sure that it was something that people had tried and liked.

Well, I pay a magazine subscription for my favorite magazine once every year. It costs $24. If I cancel that subscription, I'll have enough extra money ever year to get a Flickr Pro account.

If it's a photo magazine, you'll get the same info here except that you'll get it more quickly and with colourful and witty comments.

Oh no, it's a girly magazine. It has nothing to do with photography...

Oh yeah, I think that learning photography on this forum is a lot more fun than learning with a magazine. LOL
