Default $500

I have a Nikon D500 with a Nikkor 18-105mm and 70-300mm.

I have $500 to spend on a new lens (about). I had been interested in the Tamron 10-24mm, but the thought of a 35mm or 50mm is enticing. I usually just shoot, scenry from the palces I travel all over the world. The prime lenses would be nice for their sharpess and aperature. Any suggestions?

About the best all in one travel lens I can recommend for you is the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR11 lens. It may be a little over your budget, but you could get a good used one for around your budget. It's reasonably compact and very versatile - it's not fast but the VR helps in low light situations.

Go for a sharp, fast prime lens. You've got the full focal range covered with your current lenses, from 18 to 300mm.

Ever find yourself running out of space "to get it all in" weather it be a waterfall, canyon, building, tight city or village street?

If so get the ultrawide angle zoom.

If you are shooting in very low light at hand held shutter speeds then get a fast prime.

+1 with Richards advise. It really depends on what you are finding lacking currently. If you are not really, and it is mostly scenery, then maybe think tripod. If you don't have a speed light, then that will go further for indoor use then a prime lens. You have a pretty good coverage on focal length where you sit.

Except that that's not the point of a UWA lens.

What is the "point" of an UWA angle lens, in addition to be able to give you possibly more control over perspective.?
