Default An Example

The two images below (edit: removed by OP) reminds me of some of the threads posted here ... you know, the ones that starts out with ".....I have a camera and a good friend ask me if I could take some pictures of their engagement party (or whatever) ... what do you think I should charge?"

He was pretty much in charge of this photoshoot ... telling the photographer where to stand and how close she can walk up to them .. I keep running into them as this was close to where the Chicago Fest is held ..

I know you only gave it as an example but don't judge when you don't know the full story, they might not have the budget for an engagement shoot.

For me nothing wrong with that, who cares if she have only point and shoot camera as long there is someone that is willing to pay for the services and photos.

Camera is just a camera,..... with the proper tecnique, knowledge, understanding and passion, you can do a decent shots even with camera phone.

We don't know what other people can do to maximize their equipment, who know's maybe she took pictures better than you.

I don't know that I read any judgements in Haywood's post. It seems to me to be just an illustration. There are tons of threads where people post about shooting an important event and the community bangs on about having the right equipment and back up equipment and experience etc...

I didn't say he was judging them.. I'm just saying it might just be a budget issue.

Come to think of it.. Given where you were.. It's quite possible that they were just larking about, a couple of students got dressed up for the day as a laugh.. And also possible that the reason for the P&S is deliberate.. Maybe they were shooting an advert for the P&S and needed some decent shots from it to show what it's capable of??

Either way, whilst we're DSLR snobs on here, let's not forget.. Some people just don't care about photography and have lives and friends instead!
