Hi, I have twin girls that are 6 years old they see me out taking pictures a lot and started begging me to get them camera's. I love it that they want to learn and would like to get them a camera but nothing to big (im sure ill end up carrying them around all the time) and nothing to expensive (because well they are 6 and like to break things). was wondering if anyone could suggest a camera that's in the $100 or lower price range (nothing to much more than that because I have to get two) that takes pretty good pics?? they don't need one with a lot of options on it yet, just something they can go around take pictures and learn how to do that first, then I can step them up later if they want to.
It would also give them something to do while im taking pictures I know they get bored every time I stop to take a pic of something (because I hear there little sighs and the whispers "shes doing it again"). if they can join in and see how much fun it can be and how it teaches you to view things differently around you then I think they would stop whispering to each other about me and hopefully get excited when I grab my camera to go out.

What about one of the waterproof / tough P&S cameras that have come out recently? That's going to have better quality than a camera marketed at kids, and they're durable enough that they shouldn't break.
![]() Something like this: Amazon.com: Kodak EasyShare Sport C123 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 2.4-Inch LCD - Red (New Model): Camera & Photo is $70-80. Something like this: Amazon.com: Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Green): Camera & Photo is about $120.

Nicole, you beat me to that suggestion. My cousin has the Fuji camera and he and his wife both love it. It's also shockproof and freezeproof.

I used to have a Kodak Easyshare and it was great, very easy to use. BUT, my recommendation (beaten by Nicole
) would be a shockproof, waterproof camera. You won't have to worry about them dropping it and they don't have too many bells and whistles to confuse them. I would highly recommend the Olympus Tough range - I lost one on the bottom of a white water river last year, someone found it after it got washed downstream FIVE months later. He picked it up, shook the water off and turned it on. After I got it back I rinsed it off at the kitchen sink, shook the sand out and am still using it now. Seriously - don't go past the Olympus Tough
