Default Newb Question..

When shooting, what size do you consider "High Resolution" for cd purposes, and how can I change this setting on a canon rebel xs for it to automatically shoot in this size? Would it be the same menu as switching to RAW image?

On the XS, shoot anything RAW or L (JPEG). For CD purposes, that would be fine. And yes, it is the same menu. First red menu icon, under "Quality".

Thank you! I shoot in JPEG now. I'm afraid of how much space shooting in RAW will take. As of now I only have two 8G cards. I need to get more before I shoot this wedding in a few weeks. Its less than 50 people and held on a patio, but still, I'm nervous!

Don't worry!! If I were you, grab another 8gb just to be sure... cause at weddings, you can never be too safe.

But, shooting in RAW on an XS on an 8gb card is still like 780 images per card. At least with RAW, you can really play with it in Post if you want too

Oh dear, if that's the only reason why you're shooting in Jpeg then you're really short-changing yourself. Seriously, just buy another a few more 8Mb cards as really, they're not that expensive and consider it a tiny but much needed investment for your business.

You should be afraid of how much you are limiting yourself shooting in Jpeg - card space isn't something you shouldn't even have to think of at all with this business.

I had no idea it was so simple! I really need to find classes in my community or travel for some. I haven't taken classes in 5 years and my camera is newer to me so I have a lot to learn.
