Wow! I'm so pissed off!
I've been out and about playing with camera settings to get familiar with light, aperture, shutter speeds... Everything! So I got home and set my camera up on it's tripod at the window and there's bloody nothing catching my attention so I decided to get familiar with shutter speeds and motion blur. I was capturing passing vehicles and honing the blur amount; you know, just playing around. I got some nice results and I was happy with it - then... I switched to full auto and aimed towards the horizon and took a shot and just as I did that a woman pushing her pram caught my eye. She was pushing the pram off 6 feet in front of her then grabbing it and repeating! Ideal! So I frantically aimed at her and started shooting but no blur! I forgot I had just switched to auto!!!! DAMN!!! It would have made such a good shot with her still and the pram blurred! Maybe I can motion blur the pram in post? ![]()

Pram.
I hate it when I do that. I've done similar things with motion blur and missing it because I switched settings...

Sorry.. Maybe I'm stupid, but this woman was pushing, whatever you call it, the vehicle containing her baby 6 feet in front of her, out of reach, beside a busy road? Is it just me that thinks that's an utterly stupid thing to do?

It sounds stupid but it was a toddler and he was loving it. The road was about 20 feet away and she was on smooth tarmac.

I know what you mean! What you are describing is the woman was pushing-catching-pushing-catching the pram (stroller to those lost in translation).
It is annoying when you change the settings and forget to change them back. Been there and done that mainly with high ISO.

Wow - I live in the US and knew what a pram is! I had one just like the photo for my babies too!
