Default A nice surprise

I should clean more often! Yesterday, my wife and I were helping my grandmother go through her closets to get ready for a yard sale. When my wife started yelling for me to get back there, I knew she found something good. It was a Brownie 2A. The exposure slide, exposure lever and stop slide are all working perfectly. The lens looks to be in good condition. The glass and mirrors for the viewfinders are terrible but my wife's uncle owns a glass shop so that should be an easy fix. The problem is the film. Can you still buy 116 film? I've searched for it but the only option I have found is to re-spool 120 onto the 116 spools. Anyone know of a place that sells 120 that is already re-spooled or will I have to do it myself? I'd love to try this camera out but if I can't it will still look great on my shelf.

1) I found expired 116 but not too sure about using expired film. (If you have an opinion on using expired 116 I would love to hear it)
2) Found people that have made a spacer so the 120 spool fits (I can do this, but would prefer to just buy something)
What I have been unable to find using Google is 120 film already spooled onto a 116 spool. Since I couldn't find any already done, I thought MAYBE someone on here might know if you could get it somewhere. But I guess I'm going to just have to do it myself.

I have no idea about the film but that is a way cool find. Congrats! I hope you can get it working. I would love to have an old camera to play with.

Thanks Nicole. I had no idea there were still so many of these out there until I started searching for film. From what I've seen, you can get them on ebay all day long for under $50. I might buy one that takes 120 and just put this one on the shelf.

Very cool find. An old Brownie box camera was the very first camera my mom ever put into my hands. It was old then, too!
