I haven't been to Arches national Park in several years. BUT, this weekend will be my first time back since then. Last time I was there I was on a cross country trip on the Harley so the gear I brought was minimal and my time was very limited. The time of day was mid day so the lighting pretty much sucked.
This time, I have WAY better lenses, I can take more equipment and since I'll be there for a few days I can get those sunrise and sunset photos I've been wanting. Wish I could leave tomorrow but I have a show to to bring some artwork to in LaVeta Colorado at 2 in the afternoon. This is not the time of year to travel over the mountains at night so am gonna wait till early Sunday morning to leave. Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most definite the delicate arch. I have a long list of what sites to visit for morning and for sunset. Looks like they have snow on the ground there which is really cool. Not many photos of the park in the winter
I've all ready got the balanced rock so that one is not on the top of my list. I want the courthouse towers and fiery furnace the most!

I love arches - one of my favorite places....
I've got to get back with my current equipment - I know your feeling! I'd love to see it in winter with snow as well... I don't know how much of a survivalist you are - but when I was there a long time ago - I recall people being able to take a small test / video / training thing - and get a permit to go into the fiery furnace by themselves, outside of the tour. I really want to go back and do that, because there's just not much time for photography on the tour... I have so many shots I want to do there. I look forward to seeing anything you may post, have a great time, and say hello to double arch for me if you get the chance (Oh and is landscape arch still standing?) |
