Default Video Editing

Hey guys!
I'll start out straight: I am a video editing noob. I just recently got After Effects and I'm pretty much clueless. My goal is to make videos for YouTube of my bands stuff, but I'm clueless on how to create those videos where you have, say, 4 different screens running simultaneously in one shot (so like in the top right have the video of the guitar, and in the top left have the drums, all synced with an audio track of them recorded...you get the idea). I don't really know what this is called, and since I figure you guys are all awesome at photography, video editing might be a hobby of yours. If any of you could point me towards some tutorials, or something like that it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Final Cut on Mac

Premier Express (Adobe) or CyberLink Powerdirector 9 are both excellent for a reasonable price.

Adobe premiere is great.... But I hate those videos with multiple screens doing different shots at the same time. Csi Miami is horrible at that. I know some people thinks it looks cool, but I think it looks like the director couldn't decide what to film.
