Default simply electronics?

has anyone ever come across this company before?

i bought my first lens from the company on 10th of january....i bought a tamron A14 AF 18-200mm lens..and as it was under £145 i bought one....

1. i didnt get an email confirming my order...even though i checked with paypal and my bank that they got payment..

2. when i rang them up..i eventually got through to them after going through the usual menu system..and i ended up speaking to a chinese or japanese fella!! this i wasnt expecting...

3. i was assured from the wee fella...that my order would be dispatched in a couple of days and they will send me an email.

4. now this is the 21st jan and i still have no lens...and still no email telling me that my lens has been dispatched...and i now find out that the company is based in hong kong...which means a hefty charge will come my way from the uk customs...so my lens isnt as much as a bargain now!

5. ive emailed them demanding a refund and i told them that if i didnt hear from them within 24hours i will begin a paypal dispute.

no where on the website does it state that the goods are being shipped to uk...it has a 24 hour helpline....and it has white blond girls photos smiling at you holding a phone...you pay extra money for express delivery within 2 days and it doesnt happen...when i asked about my item they emailed to say that my items was going through a "quality control check" before dispatch!!!....

any excuse to cover the 3 weeks that it usually takes for chinese shipments to come to the UK...

simply dont spend any money with them....

Fist off, what's the website? I found a couple simplyelectronics when I searched, not sure which one you mean.
If you do a quick and easy google search on "simple electronics" you'll see on the 3rd or 4th result in the AVforums that someone says they're based out of HK. Always do your research before buying.

Suggestion, you should usually ask this before spending money on unknown sites.

If price is too good to be true, then you should've checked ahead about the company.

1. i didnt get an email confirming my order...even though i checked with paypal and my bank that they got payment..

"wee fella" is just a little bit offensive if not outright racist mate. It's similar to me assuming you are dumb for being a bodybuilder, no?

Many times these sort of export shops will ship them in a way that customs won't know it's a purchase of something new. Again, lesson learned, check with them before you buy.

5. ive emailed them demanding a refund and i told them that if i didnt hear from them within 24hours i will begin a paypal dispute.

Ooooor, know what you're getting into. Sorry to be harsh, but much of this is your own doing for blindly buying something online because it was likely the cheapest you could find. Chalk it up to lessons learned.

Never great when this happens, but I also want to ask...
When you see a product way cheaper than amazon, BH, adorama - on a website that offers no physical address or even a decent reputation, does it not raise red flags?
A quick google shows them as Hong Kong based, so whilst you have a legit excuse, a little leg work would have stopped 80% of your issues above.

big fuzzy....to clear a matter up....the term "wee fella" is not racist ....its actually a scottish term used often to describe a man who is unknown to a person...i.e on the telephone..or describing someone on websites etc...and we also use it as a term of endearment when we are referring to pets, children or friends...i call my husband "the wee fella" and indeed he isnt "wee" at all..

sorry if i caused you offence but there was none intended...

Wii fella would have been racist.

How is the weather? I just had coffee with some lads who arrived into cape town from Edinburgh this morning. It is hot here today and I could not get them out of the sun. I think everyone is borderline rickets with the lack of sun up north.
