Default Praise for the UPS man!

LOL

Basically, he tried 3 days in a row to catch me to get a signature... Sure enough, all 3 days I was at work. He left his cell # on the last slip (thought he was asking for a date LOL).

I knew what he had and I had to get it before he took it back to the depot 30+ miles away.

Welp, he called me back and told me, "I'm going to be at the city hall at 12, then the post office from 12:15 to 12:30, then the... " He telegraphed all of his stops for the rest of the day and said I could meet him.

I have to admit, that was pretty neat of him to do... most of them won't let you meet them at a location, but he did. I got my stuff and I didn't have to drive to the depot.

He looked at me and said, "That must be something nice if Amazon requires a signature, they never do!"

LOL, he was right.

I now have my 4 - SB900's and the Sigma 10-20mm

Interesting, lately I have been having the exact reverse situation. Things come to my house that require a signature and I am home yet they just leave it by the garage, or the mailbox, or the front door without even ringing the bell. Just before Christmas FedEx did that and my dogs got the package and destroyed everything. We put a claim in and when FedEx came to pick up the old package they asked us what we wanted them to do with the shredded box and its content - we told them they could do whatever the FU$@#K they wan't with it.

Awesome UPS story Eric, sometimes you get great drivers. I normally don't run into that issue since I ship stuff to work, but we don't get Saturday deliveries so I have to wait a few days sometimes.

Glad you had good results.

I have had nothing less than total nightmares with "Buster Brown". I have customers (non photography) that send me heavy packages (brake rotors) regularly. They get here without incident through USPS. When they make the mistake of sending them Buster Brown the box is drop kicked and half destroyed.

I have even had UPS deliver a package empty. And I had them hide a package in transit because they knew they destroyed it. They did not contact me or my customer. The insurance? That was worthless. They were going to let this one slip into the black hole so to speak. I have had several packages straight crushed with no recourse or apology. I was also told by a UPS district rep that this is normal from time to time and there was nothing I could do about it.

At a place that I used to work customers would send golf cart engines back for repair or replacement. UPS would deliver the box that is marked 70lbs with a huge gaping hole in one side and nothing inside.Might I add this was strapped to a small pallet. So all we got was the pallet and the empty box. Every time they would drop one of these on the dock they would try to run and hide. They would get their signature and nearly do a burnout in the doc yard to get away from the empty package they knew they delivered.

But like I said - glad yours turned out ok. Somewhere somehow someone has to get lucky once in a while.

I have had several UPS drivers go above and beyond to get a package to me. I ♥ Brown!
