Default Always check settings!

Just went to start editing images from yesterdays WWPW, I shot the entire day on ISO 1000. Images are just a bit noisy. Now I'm just sick. I guess I'll wait till tomorrow to get the 2 rolls of Elite Chrome 100 I shot with the Canon A2, maybe I can save part of the day.

I've been there as well. I sometimes get in trouble when I go from one area to another and there is a BIG change it the light.

Our walk yesterday was late in the evening, under a canopy of trees, so I had to shoot at 1600 mostly. I got a lot of noise, but still usable images. I'm sure the 50D is better with noise than my old D70? Don't give up on 'em yet!

4 days ago I took 48 photos of the 3 opening acts of a concert and then realized that I forgot to charge the battery the night before. Now I know 2 things. Charge your batteries and check your settings.

its a long shot, as perhaps you already use it, but if you don't go download the trial version of LR3. noise removal is.... life saving.

Actually, it isn't LR3's noise reduction capability, it's ACR's. The raw converter in LR is ACR with a polished look. All the settings and capabilities are the same.

i dont know what WWPW is.. but yeah.. tough lesson.

how is it possible to not check ISO though? how/what were you shooting?

ACR batch process the lot, that should sort you out.
pretty painless process if you dont do them individually

I've definitely shot in a higher ISO than I really wanted. Also, many times have taken my camera out to take a picture, only to be confronted with the menacing "NO CF CARD" message, and no extras in my bag! I'm more careful these days about making sure I have at least one with me :P
