This camera just keeps escaping me. Missed the Bestbuy deal by a day, two craiglist cameras have been sold as I've been en route for pickup.
Can paypal.

Are you still looking for one. I am planning to sell one of my two in the next month or so as I'm upgrading to the D700. I will be selling the body only (and battery, cords etc) for $675 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested.
Sarah

Thanks for that link!
Sarah, I may be. Contact me when you are ready to sell. I mentioned upgrading to my husband, I thought he would really be annoyed with the idea as my current camera is only a few months old and after some time he suggested a 300. At this point I am not sure which route I will go as I am completely confused now. But the 200 is still on the list! So please do contact me when you are ready to sell.

If you're being given the choice, this is a no-brainer:
Get the D300!!!

Krossk,
I think he just likes to expose some knowledge of whatever he talks about but doesn't really know much! But lets hear your reasons WHY? I just want more ammunition when he asks me. just wanted to add, i was looking at bestbuy.com at the d300 only because its local and i could get it fast. but they have the 300s for cheaper, why? its only 100 bucks, but still. i don't care to have the video option. im just rambling confused.

Let's start with the basis for my statement: I currently shoot with a D300, and prior to that with a D80 (the "little brother" of the D200) I also have a colleague who currently shoots with a D200 (and hates it citing poor focus tracking) after upgrading from his D50.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Krossk,
Many apologies. I wasn't referring to you, instead that comment was about my husband. He suggested the 300 only because it was a bigger number. He just wanted to point out that he had heard of the 300. Really, I am sorry you felt that was directed to you. I was instead attempting to explain his position as it was based on zero information. I feel like a putz.
