Default My first day with a DSLR, but only a .01 sec shot

WWYW you first realized photography was becoming a serious hobby (and post a picture from that day!)

It was in February, the only day it's snowed in Cardiff this year. I went out to photograph it at 2am. That made me realise! (Also one of the first times I'd used the completely manual setting).

WWYW you first put some proper planning into a photo? (and post the photo).

In May 2009.

I was doing an on line photography course which required setting up a still life. I had never done this before - I set this up on my kitchen bench with the overhead kitchen spot lights, a kitchen window, a reading lamp, and my Canon EOS 450D on a tripod. I took lots of photos during the session of different set ups - here is one of them.

WWYW I had your first photo published in a magazine - show us the photo.

Default Sunset

On a ship on the Baltic Sea in mid-Summer.

I think most have experimented with motion blur, hopefully more successfully than I have, so WWYW you took your best motion blur shot and show us the picture!

Down an alley in Cardiff walking home when this cyclist came past me. I'd been playing around with a long shutter speed and moving my camera, and this was my favourite. I think it looks like a panicked shot where the photographer is running.

Panic (Explored)

WWYW you last photographed a moving vehicle? (And show pic)

I was probably about 15 miles north of Jean, NV trying to take photos of the Perseids meteor shower. I was out there for about 2 hours and got one picture of one falling star.

WWYW you sold your first print of your work?
