I Changed it to B/W, then saturated the color and gave a little highlight and made it a polaroid look

GIRL

Used Picnik and turned her into a sketch. Used PSE 6 and cloned out a lot of the background (tried to get rid of the brick but it looked "funny" because of the position of her hair- added a sepia tint (35%) and used the old paper filter to add some depth...

What would you do #75

Auto levels
Less exposure
More blackpoint
Little more contrast and vibrancy
Little less saturation
Soften red midtone
some shadows
Doge the eyes a bit
Burn the hair to darken darker areas

Default Minor Edits

dpsedit

Used ACR to drop exposure and red, boost black and clarity.
Used PS CS3 to lens blur the background, burn some areas (hair and cheeks) and sharpen eyes.

This was just a simple satuation adjustment. A little dodge where the hair was dark underneath.

In CS3
lightly sharpened;
topaz filter to add definition in highlights lowlights in image;
used mask to soften the topaz effects;
duplicated layer, used healing brush and spot brush around eyes and nose, mask to bring mack some natural textures;
burned and dodged eyes, and teeth - added light color to even out teeth;
softened overall image (for skin) masked back sharpness in details - clothes, eyes, mouth, hair;
unsharp mask to fix contrasting and line details
viola!

Default My attempt

So I did a few things here (in Gimp). First I cropped the photo some, to bring the subject more into the center. Then I removed the catch light from her eyes.

Then I started adding layers. First I added a "touch of green" layer....which layers on multiple layers to create a light green effect. Then I add a sepia layer. These two together create a chocolate brown effect (one of my favorites). Then I pull up contrast and raise it some to the point where I like.

Default so new at this ... hope this works

photo WWYD #75

What I did:
1 - played with the curves, defining the facial features
2 - used the clone tool on a low opacity, feathered brush to
soften the dark patches under the eyes
3 - dodge tool to softly wash/paint out the siding in the background
and around her hair
4 - extended the canvas to the right of the image with the selected background
off white
5 - applied an unsharp masked filter with rations
Amount: 20% Radius: 60 pixels Threshold: 0
6 - duplicate layer and apply:
hue saturations: basic saturation of +30
then amplify the blue +40, cyan +30, yellow +20
7 - a clarifying saturation with the new amplified colors,
unsharp mask: Amount 15%, Radious 85
8 - duplicate this layer and rename "blur"
9 - apply a smart blur Radius 5, Threshold 25 (plasticy look)
10 - create a new empty layer calling it airbrush
11 - using the paint brush on a low opacity 35%, selected colors out of the hair
and painted highlights and low lights to give the image a more painted effect
12 - soften the blur layer to 40% to let some of the natural texture show thru
13 - added new empty layer and used it to paint soft touch watery wings and sparkles
in complimentary tones
14 - added a 2 toned frame with canvas size
15 - applied a soft canvas texturizer of 50% and 2 relief (due to small sized image)
