  • D800e at ISO6400 yet again

Was out taking pictures the other day before a party and had my camera with me with no plans to take pictures there - but I was asked. Here is one shot of some flower sculptures that are five to six feet tall taken with no flash with my Nikon D800e and 24-70/f2.8 lens:

    Bfloral Party -8003984

    Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
    Aperture f/4.0
    Focal Length 26 mm
    ISO Speed 6400

The other funny thing is I was asked by at least six different people to take their pictures. One told me it was OK that he was a good friend of the host. I explained I was not hired help and was just a guest too, but would be happy to take their picture for my personal photo collection

I'm impressed with the shot. especially at that high of an ISO. Very little noise at all if any. Nice shot.

Nice work. Do you carry model releases with you? I've been taking street shots of people in a small Texas town and I have been asking for model releases to be signed. After I take the shot and convert it to b/w for a project I'm doing I go back with the print and the model release. Batting 100 so far.

Wow, impressive @ 6400 ISO. I guess the room had no other lights on but the ones in the flower sculptures, right? TFS.

Would you mind sharing the release form you are using (or sharing the source I can find it)? Many thanks!

The flowers were lit and there was some purple light coming up from the floor on the other side of the room and then there were two big chandeliers that had small about 24-30 small candles in them.

Are you serious...12.800 ISO. You could blow out a picture with candle light and an f/45.
