I have been fortunate to have been able to see these chaps on a few occasions and thought that I would share with those who have not.

Well that was very cool. I love air shows. The last picture looks like a very impressive maneuver. It looks like you had a good time. Have a safe new year and thanks for posting.

Nice shots, those yellow planes show up well against the blue sky.

I saw these guys once, they did some kind of fly past in Dunedin about 20 years ago. Would love to see them performing at an airshow, will have to try to get to Wanaka sometime.

      Thanks for sharing!

Excellent shots! The yellow really pops against the blue sky as said above. I love #2 the most, because it looks like the pilot is giving you the "peace" sign (seems so relaxed despite how technical the maneuvers are)!

I would also like to say that the choice of 1/500 shutter speed does a fantastic job of keeping great detail in the smoke while allowing the perfect amount of movement from the propellers.

Hi Rick, yep air shows are my favourite for photography. That maneuver is horrid to capture as I've missed it a few times having started shooting too soon or too late!

Thanks for your kind words misterfour. He was indeed giving the peace sign although I didn't see it though the viewfinder!!
