  • The International Association of Press Photographers

Has anyone ever seen this or heard of them? It seems like a really great thing, almost too great. Having this kind of access to things could really open some doors! The cost is very reasonable to have this kind of access to events and such.

    Any feedback is welcome.

    Thanks
    Equipment: Nikon D90 - Nikor 18-105mm VR - Lensbaby Muse w/DBL Glass - Nikon SB-24 Flash - Sakar 383 Flash - etc, etc, etc...

This passion started in 2007 on a 21 day trip to Europe, came home with 4,700+ photos and been hooked ever since...

Design and then print and laminate your own version of a "press pass" and that will have as much clout internationally or nationally as that one will.

It is a total and utter waste of time.
If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?

Not worth it. And don't make up your own press card. It you get caught, that'll ruin your chances in getting into any event. To get into concerts and sporting events you need to be working for a credited news/magazine organization.

It's a completely useful tool if you are allergic to money.

Is this IAPP a legit association? Does it really work for getting into events? Is it a recognized accredited association?

You got to be kidding me. C'mom Man! It doesn't do anything for you because it's not recognized news organization.

If you check out the photos posted on the IAPP, they were taken photographers who provide photos for dreamstime, a microstock outfit.

THe IAFF is a waste of $49 or the $125.00 it asks for membership.
