  • HOW to clean the Nikon D60 Focusing screen?

    As the tittle goes, can anyone tell me how to clean the Focusing screen? i was blowing of the dust with the Rocket Blower and a spec of dust went above the focusing screen, its unreachable and i dont want to mess up my cam by unscreewing the wrong screews...

    Any Ideas? plz dont tell me to take it to nikon service cause where i live there is NO nikon

    Here's a video that may help. I changed the screen on my D40 like this. But use plastic tools, not metal, to reduce risk of scratching the screen.

    PS - it will void the warranty if Nikon finds out you did this.

      HA! That's priceless when he puts at the end "hmmm... some this screen seems to be out of best position ;P" A $400 D40 should be sent to Nikon to be repaired. May cost half of what it is worth but at least it would be right. I think they charge somewhere around $75-100 to just clean one.

        well... i did what everyone told me not to... i got out the focusing screen and the copper separator and cleaned the screen with a diswasher soap and water... thankfully it went well and all the specs are gone!!!

        Just needed a bit of luck since there is no nikon service where i Live... so... im all by myself
