  • Posting Pictures from Photo Sharing Sites (A visual guide)

Flickr has been updated as of July 2010. Please use the guide here: http://digital-photography-school.co...10-update.html

    Visual Guides now available for:
    Flickr (this post)
    Zooomr
    PicasaWeb
    Webshots

In case you're new to the forums or new to Flickr and you want to see how to post pictures using Flickr, here's a visual tutorial to try to clear up the steps.

    1. Upload the photo that you want to use to Flickr and go to your Flickr page.

    2. Click on the photo that you want to post in the forums and click on the "All Sizes" button.

    3. Select either the small or medium size picture, then look for the text box that's under your picture. You see the text in box 1? Copy that text.

    4. Come back to the forum and start a new thread or go to the thread that you want to post in. Paste the text from your Flickr page into your post and then submit your post or preview it and then submit it (combined into 1 step here since I can only do 4 pictures per post).

lol yeah, I think we've finally got the html turned on in all the forums. It took a while since some of them slipped by . Glad the visual guide was helpful. I do know how text directions can be confusing... especially when trying to explain which one is the html if someone isn't familiar with it.

Posting Pictures from Zooomr (A Visual Guide)

Another visual guide to posting pictures, this time for Zooomr.

                  1. Upload the photo that you want to use to Zooomr and go to your Zooomr page.

                  2. Click on the photo that you want to post in the forums and click on the "All Sizes" button.

                  3. Select either the small or medium size picture, then look for the text box that's under your picture. You see the text in first box? Copy that text.

                  4. Come back to the forum and start a new thread or go to the thread that you want to post in. Paste the text from your Zooomr page into your post and then submit your post or preview it and then submit it (combined into 1 step here since I can only do 4 pictures per post).

Posting Pictures from PicasaWeb (A Visual Guide)

Yet another visual guide to posting pictures, this time for PicasaWeb.

                    1. Upload the photo that you want to use to PicassaWeb and go to your Album's Gallery page.

                    step1picasa (by -Nicole-)

                    2. Click on the photo that you want to post in the forums and click on "Link to this Photo" on the right side of the page.

                    Picture (by -Nicole-)

                    3. Select either the small or medium size in the drop-down box, do you see the text that's in the box above the drop-down box that says "HTML to embed in website"? Copy the text that's in that box.

                              Help!

I've followed your excellent guide carefully, and all I get when I copy the HTML is this:

                              http://www.flickr.com/photos/russheath/1209901383/" title="Photo Sharing">http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1245/1209901383_a6e871326c.jpg" width="500" height="305" alt="Blue Dawn" />

I can't figure it out! I originally thought it was a problem with my flickr account being new, and not "reviewed" yet. However, my pics are now available by public search on flickr which would indicate my account has been reviewed.

Any suggestions? I'm tired of only being able to post links!
