Why have a contest that not everyone can participate in? That's incredibly unfair. Some of us work hard on these assignments, but don't have an SLR. I understand you're busy, but why not, then, pick a topic that everyone can fully participate in?

that is what I was thinking Jenn. I understand that we can do the RYB instead but still, its not quit fair.

footnote; I'm so darned excited!!!! It's starting to come together to this newbie to my SLR camera. Tonight while fooling with my camera and trying to figure out what/how to shoot at F/16, I knew to adjust my white balance (thanks LTR) I knew what may happen if I increased the shutter speed, I knew that the aperture setting would change my depth of field. So much more to learn but the basics are slowly sinking in, the photo above is straight out of the camera! Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know that old dogs really can learn new tricks and I am so excited!

The only stupid question is the one that is never asked, except maybe “Don’t you think it is about time you audited my return?”

Default Assignment: F/16 (RYB)

I am pretty sure that my camera only goes to F/8 so I focused on blue. (I have a Canon Powershot G10). I was practicing "sunlight through trees" but the sun wasn't cooperating so I started playing around with my color swap feature and got this result.

Date taken 6/23/09
f/4
1/250 sec
ISO 250

Assignment: RYB

Default Not for assignment

I would have submitted this image of my kids but it was taken several weeks ago. I loved the way this turned out. I used the color accent feature.
